  1. It also cheaper for the team they only have to pay a percentage of the contract since the insurance pays the rest

  2. Wasn't it being discussed in the media during the playoffs, whether Murray should be dressed to play? Now suddently Murray is on LTIR?

  3. Robidas Island actually sounds pretty nice.

Draw a $6 Million salary just to get lost? Sign me up Bradley Treliving.

  4. So basically, the Leafs get to change their own salary cap to $93.8m by pretending two retired guys may still play hockey. One of them was cleared to play and was backing up Woll the last game the Leafs played. Totally screwed here is the Ottawa Senators…who get to shoulder $1.5625m in dead cap this season…for a washed up bum that won't be playing hockey. Great for the Leafs and Murray…screw you Sens. lol

The league really needs to address this blatant cap circumvention scam. Look at how long Montreal has been pretending their cap ceiling is over $90m with the stupid Carey Price contract. Tampa and Vegas have won cups by exploiting this scam. It's not a real league while teams can just take on bad contracts for guys that are more valuable not playing to raise their cap ceiling.

  5. Hey Matt, do you want 90% of your salary or 2/3rds of your salary?
No brainer. Welcome to Robidas Island. Say hello to Lupul for me.

  6. im a Leaf fan and i like it, they save against the cap 600k this and 2 mil next season, then next season both Murray & Muzzin are off the books, the 2 mil next season they are going too need it for Matthews raise, then the following 2 years from now Tavares is off the books.and if he wants to stay i wouldnt give him anymore than 4 to 5 million, Nylander needs to be traded for a defenceman, he aint getting 10 mil in TO,go get it somewhere else, i love his offence play but man the guy dosent backcheck or play defence,we can find his goals or close too it for 5 million.

  7. If the Leafs bought out Murray, then the Sens would get that money back on their cap. What happens now that he's on LTIR?

  8. the thing I dont understand is that every bad contract teams get why dont they put them on the LTIR its not like the league cares about cap circumvention dont get why a player like Seguin isnt on the LTIR for the Stars they could use that 10mil for way better
