Evander Kane crosscheck on Alex Pietrangelo – Have your say!

Evander Kane took a run at Alex Pietrangelo as time expired in the first period. It ended with Kane crosschecking Pietrangelo in the neck/chin. Kane got a minor penalty for crosschecking. Pietrangelo got nothing for the retaliatory punch. Tough Call will be reviewing the incident. Have your say!

  1. Skates from how far away and cracks him in the chin? At very minimum that should be a fine.

  3. Cross check to the face/head. Should be 5 and a GM. Probably a suspension as well. In the Shannaban day it would be.

  4. should be at least a game, but hey Kane playing dirty in other news its a day that ends in Y.

  5. That should be a long suspension. Even if he had not crosschecked him in the head, it would still be charging.

  6. tried to take him out of the series. pietrangelo is again making huge difference. valuable asset.

  7. This is what happens when the refs start orchestrating the game by not making obvious calls that the entire arena can plainly see, and the oilers know it too. Kane did that just to send a message to the refs no other reason for him to do that at the end of the period. The refs still didn’t call any obvious penalties against Vegas, obviously other forces at work here.

  8. Kane should get suspended…that said, Pietrangelo is a dirty player. I don't like him…

  9. Since the contact happened after the whistle, you can't call penalty or suspend anyone. That's how it works in the NHL. Just ask Draisaitl last year.

  10. Suspend him. Not the first time Kane tried to take out a player making a difference in a playoff game. Just ask Kadri from last years playoffs

  11. As a oilers fan I still have no idea why kane had to do that with 2 seconds left on the clock. Now this is a distraction for the team.

  12. Typical Kane. He controls his behavior about the same as what he controls his finances.

  13. Cross check to the face …no doubt. Dangerous and should be called. One game, at least. If he is a multiple offender. Then more.

  14. He made a B-line for him! Imo thats not a tough call at all! He was very obviously targeting and trying to deal some lasting damage.

  15. I'll let it slide because he's one of my favorite players and that was hilariously random and insane to watch happen… The 2 minute penalty was the icing on top. haha

  16. We've already seen this twice from start of playoffs. Lafferty and Bennet, both we're fines no suspension, both were just above the shoulders. If it's more than a fine you can add it to the list that is the pathetic level of inconsistency from DoPS. Intentional is intentional regardless of any other factors. If he gets suspended it will be because he was trying to show up the officials which has a max penalty of dismemberment and career derailment.

  17. Def a penalty. I think Pietrangelo shot the puck at him also lol. Doesn't justify it, at all, bone head move by Kane. But I think Pietrangelo shot it at him and Kanes wires crossed a bit for a second. Hands down prior to the puck getting flipped at his chest, hands come up in defense of the puck, and he just kept riding them up because I think he thought to himself "try and defend yourself? Fuck you"

  18. What a plug… His career will be over in 5yrs and he’ll be forgotten.. Just like his kids will forget him when they get older…

  19. Well, I care less about Pietrangelo's slash on Draisaitl. Got a game off that Vegas still won. He'll be good and rested for G6.
