I’m sure David is doing the work. He’ll come to camp better than when he left the prospects camp and probably have a long stay and get in half the preseason games. From there, who knows, but I hope he makes management’s position difficult.

I think the Swiss league would be best. He still needs to develop his offensive game and to do that he needs more freedom to experiment than he would have in the NHL.

Swiss league is what’s best for him. Hope we don’t rush the kid and he finds himself in a Habs jerseys at some point next year.

Don’t rush him god please

Why not Laval? I don’t think he should start in the NHL but really think getting used to NA ice would be most beneficial.

If he improves and impresses at training camp I wouldn’t have an issue with him playing here…. however I believe that he is one of those prospects that should have one more year playing in a different league, gaining knowledge, size and improving on certain qualities.
I just want this kid to succeed.

it better not be the NHL

Habs don’t need to rush him at all. At RD we have:
Savard with 2 years left, we need his veteran presence and he’s a huge minute eater – puck blocking booty.
Barron. He’s in his last year contract and we need to let him play minutes to see how he ends up. I don’t think Laval is an option for him this year.
Kovacevic : perfectly good cost controlled 3rd pair defensive RD for the moment.
Wideman: should be waived and go to Laval ( please 👉👈) and can be called back if injuries.
Mailloux: if/when injuries happen and if his game is good in Laval, why not give him a few games in MTL.
We don’t absolutly need David this year, let him cook in europe one more year.
