Yzerman drafts infinitely better than he acquires free agents. You are a rose colored homer if you see any positives with Chairot (worse defenseman I have seen since last years of Ericsson); Perron (high plains drifter); Copp (does the "little things" which means does little)…I am not sold on the coach – low energy.

I don't know if we can even say Walman would be "most improved", since his role in St Louis was limited and we had a small sample size (also in a limited role) post-trade with him in Detroit. Perhaps it was simply picking up the right player at the right time, or that he just kinda developed into the player we saw this year, It's like trying to rate an album you missed almost every track of before a new one is released, but then listen to the new one and say the band has improved. it just doesn't feel right to consider him for most improved. So my view is Ras still wins it, but what other competition would Ras have had for it?
But perhaps I'm alone in this.
