Yep, that was quite the dominant performance by the Blues tonight.

  1. perusing the rosters of the last time St. Louis and Boston met in the final is a real blast from the past from my childhood. I would have just turned 11.

  2. What a game! I just finished watching it now. Saint Louis even snapped their empty-net jinx; moments after Sundqvist missed Barbashev converted. Binnington and Blues D complement one another well; when one makes a mistake the other's usually there to cover. As long as Tarasenko is scoring on the PP, opposition still has to be wary of both. Saint Louis bent but didn't break after San Jose cut the 2-0 lead in half.

Boston-Saint Louis is an intriguing final. One of my favorite of all the games I watched this regular season was the one that Saint Louis won 2-1 in a shootout over Boston.

  3. Vulnerable or not, among the things that makes this cup final intriguing is the fact that Rask and Binnington are both very hot going into it.

  4. Loved how you broke this down. Blues fan for 32 years now and living in Canada let me tell you how lonely that can be! This year for the Blues is truly magical. I think you hit it on the head saying we will wear Boston down too to hold the cup for the first time!

  5. Man if the blues win the cup that's 2 years in a row where a long suffering fanbase gets a championship. Last year it was the caps, this year potentially the blues. There are a lot of similarities between Washington and st. Louis as franchise's. Always in the postseason but never able to get past the elite teams. Lots of great players playing for them but unable to get it done. As a caps fan I'm rooting for st. Louis because they are the western conference version of the capitals and it would be cool to see them get theirs right after we got ours. Karmic justice baby.

  6. AYeah the BLUES ARE IN THE CUPFINAL,BUT TO HOCKEY CENTRAL AT NOON AND OVERDRIVE ON TSN,THE MAPLE LEAFS ARE AN UP AND COMING DYNASTY

  7. Seems like that ot non call win was the worst thing that could have happened. After that game st. Louis woke up and took over the series. They never allowed San Jose back in the series after that.

  8. I feel bad for Big Joe. But let´s face facts- in NHL playoffs, size matters. Small and timid teams do not win it all. Bruins and Blues will be an AWESOME series.

  9. Watching these recaps is like twisting the knife but it's part of the closure process. Good luck blues it's your time hopefully

  10. Yay Blues win!!!
What happened to Wes MacCauley? I listened to the game and am wondering what caused him to leave the game.
So happy the Blues had such a comeback from being one of the lowest ranking teams during the 1st half of the regular season. Well done and hopefully the momentum will continue into the Finals. Speedy recovery wishes to the guys injured on the Sharks…we're gonba want to draft you in September for our fantasy team…Hertl, Meier and EK65 were on my roster!!!! HOCKEY IS AWESOME. 🏒

  11. @10:56 "To make sure that we're not in a situation where one team is really beat up coming out of a 7 game series and the other is well rested"

Shannon, isn't that the real benefit to winning in 4, that your team gets to rest and the other one doesn't? I thought that was part of playoffs.

  12. Sharks Fan Here, so let me vent. First, congrats to the Blues, and best of luck to you in the finals. You outscored the Sharks 10-1 over the last two games. Hard to argue about that. My rage starts now: Evander Kane? Gustav Nyquist? How many goals did you guys have in the playoffs??? I am sure the Sharks were banged up beyond the missing players, but I will bet dollars to donuts that the Blues were pretty beat up too. So no excuses there. I didn't watch the last two games, so I haven't seen the hits that led to injuries to Pavelski and Hertl. So I am not going to argue that they were high hits or not. BUT I would say that for a league that demonized John Scott and wanted him to be forgotten, they sure do let a lot of hits to the head go. (And yes, Joe Thorton's hit to the head of David Perron was a cheap head hit.) Speaking of Thorton, while I did want to see him get the cup, and he has had a great legacy, he has been out of place in the playoffs. There were too many instances in the first two rounds where he made turnovers that led to goals, or he was chasing a puck carrier in the defensive zone and left his man open, who then scored. Now the only thing I have to look forward to is Urinating Tree making a video about the Sharks losing this series.

  13. Boston is a good team, Marchand, Pasta and Bergeron are studs for sure. But depth wise.. Boston has 2 lines TOPS. Blues have a full 4 solid lines that have each scored huge amounts of goals in these playoffs..and that is why St. Louis Blues will make history in 6 games.

  14. Another great review. As a Blues fan great Series San jose. Your team is good. Y'all could beat Boston if it would have gone that way. 4 more St.Louis!!!

  15. I'm still going to keep saying it…THIS STORY ISN'T OVER. It's an AMAZING STORY… And I can't wait to tell my 2 year old when he's older about him running around the house while we were watching the Blues go from last to FIRST! last to the Cup FINAL for the first time in my lifetime!!!!!!!!! Story not over. There's more to be told… I can't wait to watch Pietrangelo hoist the Cup, then Binnington, then Tarasenko,….. chills
Blues were dominant…moreso than I thought they would be. Attrition. Can we wear down Boston. Yes, we will. Blues in 6!

  16. I'd really like a St Louis update on their Last In January To The Finals story from THG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. A Blues victory will be one of the greatest stories in sports. (Not quite '69 Mets, maybe not '99 Rams, but up there with the best.) Only problem is, Boston is a REALLY good team.

Well, that's what makes the story, right? The bigger the challenge, etc. Gloriaaaaa!!!!!!

  18. This guy should have his own Tv show!! Subscribed a few days ago and I'm really impressed..love watching these breakdowns! Keep up the great work.. GoBlues

  19. Honestly, the Blues definitely deserved the win. They played like they were the better team, and Jordan Binnington was unstoppable in the last three games. Now, they show up to their first ever Stanley Cup Finals in 49 years. Hopefully they can pull off this upset.

  20. Wow Mr. Hockey Guy you mention all those StLouis players in the beginning without mentioning Chris Pronger! Criminal!

  21. Vegas fan here. Big salute to the Sharks for giving us a fun team to hate. Looking forward to next season and the future rivalry.

    Now, let's go Blues!

  22. when you remember the sharks only won one of these games via a VERY controversial goal (admittedly the blues should never have let the sharks back into that game with their silly rink length shots on goal) the blues could have won this series 4-1, VERY strong showing by them and honestly i think they're the stronger out of themselves and the Bruins considering what they've had to go through to get here.

  23. I’m a hawks fan, and I’ve always hated the blues, but I’m rooting for them this postseason. There is something about this team that is just special

  24. Bruins, please avenge the sharks. Keep the Blues cup drought alive. Give these head hunters a taste of their own medicine. No mercy.

  25. I’ve watched Noel Picard, all three Plager brothers, Bob Gassoff, Brian Sutter, Hull and plenty of other great Blues players. Now is the time to build on the legacy that has been laid and finally win the ultimate sport victory!! BLUE NOTES IN SEVEN!!!

  26. Disappointed but at least one of my favorite Midwestern teams are to the finals but San Jose will bounce back next year

  27. As a sharks fan, I was disappointed to see an illegitimate win in game 3, i think St. Louis got robbed of that one, but I was still pulling for my team to come through. Unfortunately, the shark had just skated barely pulling off two 7 game series beforehand, and I had my doubts. The Blues played incredibly well and I have respect for them as a team. Congrats on the win, St. Louis, and good luck in the finals.

  28. It's fitting because the last time the Blues met the Sharks in the WCF, they were the ones who were beat up and out of gas. We need to at least be honest that the Blues were better in the series anyway though. In my opinion, Dallas was a tougher team than San Jose.

  29. Going back and rewatching these videos, its clear thg had this series figured out before it ever started.
