Devon Toews scored a beauty by directing the puck with his skate but the referees ruled it a kicking motion, meaning no goal for the Islanders.

  1. "Its not a kicking motion…"

    *3 seconds later

"…he drags his back foot and kicks it toward the net."

  2. If that's not a kick, the Barry Trotz and Lou Lamourillo both have tonnes of hair on their heads.

  3. Let’s all just consider the rules here…WHY is kicking the puck not allowed to be a goal? Anywhere else on the ice kicking the puck is not a problem, but when it crosses the goal line it must be called back, why? It’s the most ineffective way to score a goal and can result in some sweet-looking goals like this one, and yet it’s outlawed. I think it should be allowed.

  4. makes no sense. the rule is "A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net." toews did not kick the puck to propel it into the net… he kicked it to get it in front of the goal..

  5. Depend if you have a dog in this fight, I guess, but regardless: The Islanders need to remember how to score with their sticks.

  6. Nice kicking 😂 good job nhl 😂 this fans most be crying 😂 but toronto fans love it 🥰 😂 we were very bad to very good player I hope you lose all the games 😂

  7. It’s no goal, but if I was in charge I would definitely remove that rule.

  8. So you're telling me that if someone kicks the puck into or off of another player and then the puck gets deflected and goes in, that's no goal?

  9. The goalie is lucky the rules were in his side there because that's an embarrassingly bad goal to let in

  10. Fans chanting “replay” because they never showed it. Barclays center is a disgrace to isles fans

  11. Interesting in the post game interview Trotz says "It was the right call". These announcers made me sick.

  12. Cant be a kicking motion but he has to be kicking it in, he was kicking it from behind the red line, he had no intention for it to go in Mrazek's hit it in. It's a grey area for sure, unfortunately it cost them the game.

  13. "Not a kicking motion. Watch, he drags his back skate and kicks the puck into the net." Commentator is such an idiot.

  14. The announcer literally says "that is not a kicking motion"

10 seconds later, same announcer "he kicks it towards the net".

  15. What about the game 1 call, terrible and cost the islanders the game, simply put the refs cost the islanders 2 possible wins, Hockey is truly unwatchable. Imagine what Golden Knights are going thru a bad call cost them the playoffs. 2-4 min penalty not 5 min and ejection

  16. It’s a goal you dipshits, he kicked it towards the net and the goalie put it in himself, it’s an own goal at that point, if you think otherwise you’re a dumbass
