I remember people saying CC would never last a year in the NHL but look at him now ?? Lots of smaller mobile offensive defenders have had successful careers in the NHL. I remember Phil Housely whom was considered smallish but was very smart, heads up defender who really did very well. Another is Brian Leetch ! What about PAul Coffee ? !!??
In the end, the skills are there for Hutson. He will have to adjust to the NHL game but maybe, the opposition will have to adjust to his style of play! The coaching staff will simply have to find him a suitable defensive partner to develop chemistry and let them loose! Just let the kids play and develop! They will be fun to watch! Looks like a lot of GM'S are kicking themselves for letting this gem slip through their hands on almost three chances to draft him! WOW!

Hutson being drafted at #62 is a sign that deciding who can play in the NHL and who can't is not a science. It's an art. Can't wait to see him shake and bake in the Centre Bell.
17lbs since Habs development camp…can't see it. Probably an exaggeration like BU did. The WJSS article on him still says 158 lbs.
from what i hear Fowler is a little out of shape but has elite potential. if he can start taking training and nutrition seriously he will be a an NHL number one

Makar is a small defenseman…..hasn't hurt him any. If Hutson is at 175, he is only 11lbs behind Makar. Not worried about Hutson's size
