Episode 99 and no Gretzky!?!?!
I don't like the idea of Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson as much anymore. That Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux line was so dominant last year that's something you shouldn't mess with imo
I like that Tarasenko is supposed to be a play driver unlike DeBrincat. I think that is a big reason why the Cat didn't have as much success in Ottawa.

I think they should have locked up Pinto long term. A lot of people seem to think that he will be happy with 2.5 million which I think is ridiculous. You guys mentioned 5 million. I would have thought 4 million for 8 years. I can't see how Dorion is going to make this fit.
Dorion doesn't want to look bad to the new owner and that makes him dangerous to the franchise. Adding a sweetener to move Joseph makes him look bad and doesn't give him enough money so then he needs to move Brannstrom and for sure whatever that trade would look like would make him look bad and the money would still be tight.
What I worry about is Dorion going all in and giving away Chabot for a conditional 7th round pick in 2045. It would give him the money he needs to add some depth and maybe a RD. Unfortunately with his record the RD would be some 5th pairing pylon and the depth wouldn't be much better. I'm exaggerating but I think you get the picture.
Here's another thing. Norris is back. You've also got three other committed long term guys in Tkachuk, Stutzle and Batherson who have played very well on the PP. Which one of those guys is Smith going to kick off the PP to make Tarasenko and Dorion look good for a year?
1) I like the Tarasenko signing. It shores up our top 6 and allows Kubalik to move down to the third line, which will improve our bottom 6. It's only a 1 year deal, so if it doesn't work out we're not stuck with term. If it does work out, there's always the option to extend.
2) I think they should try and move Joseph. He makes too much money for what he brings to the table. I believe he makes $3 million per and had 0 even strength goals last year.

I think we're going to have 2-3 40 goal scorers. Tkachuk, Stutzle for sure. Norris or Giroux could get there as well. Norris has been on pace to do it before with 35 in 66 games. These young guys improved greatly last year and I expect that progression will continue. I really think Ottawa is going to be a powerhouse this year offensively. We could have four 40 goal scorer's with the right coach and lines. Looking at the stats last year… It's very possible. Defence is much stronger this year as well and that can have a huge impact on goals for.

If the Sens can't trade Joseph with a sweetener, most likely they will send Forsberg to LTIR. This gives Ottawa $3.6M to play with – Sogaard (925K), sign Sokolov (825K) & sign Pinto to one year 1.9M deal. Voila.

Hearing the guys reaction to Tarasenko was good, BUT this show peaked at getting glimpse into Wally's life from his much better half, Lisa!
They’ll try & move Joseph but with that contract it’s unlikely. I think u could get something decent for Brannstrom. He’d prob get lots of power play time on a bad team 🤷♂️. He def won’t get PP time here
Hamonic and Kelly are the weakest links of the Sens right now.
Yeah I also think the Stars and the Canes are great choices for the Cup. I think the Avalanche will have some trouble without Landeskog, but they'll still be a nasty team.

I think Ottawa has a better D core then the Leafs and our forwards are comparable. Tell me why exactly are they the runaway favourites to win the division?

No risk move, didn't give up anything to sign him, 1 year deal so if it doesn't work you don't feel bad letting him go back to UFA. This now gives the sens 8 forwards than have scored 20+ goals in the NHL + the best top 4 D we've had since Chara left. Just need Korpisalo to not be a bust and we should be in the playoffs
