Lindholm, who has one year left on his contract at 4.85 million, had a down year last season but had proved himself in the season before scoring 82 points in 82 games and being the second place in Selke voting. After publicly saying that he will not resign long term in Calgary, the Flames have to make a decision on whether they will sign Lindholm to a short 2-3 year deal or trade him to a team that has been checking in with the Flames about a trade. Some of the notable teams to reportedly reach out about a trade are the Boston Bruins, the San Jose Sharks, and the Washington Capitals.
