Now that we’re past the draft and free agency it’s time for the yearly /r/DetroitRedWings prospect ranking thread! As for how you vote it’s completely up to you: some may weigh ceiling and/or upside the highest, others may prefer a prospect that’s closest to the NHL – there’s no wrong answer on how to vote.
A new poll will be posted every 2-3 days depending on how close the voting is until we finish the top 15 prospects. I’ll include 10~ prospects every poll and will add one new prospect after each poll so discuss in the comments below who you feel should be added next.
Check out the subreddit’s previous rankings here (starting from 2018!): [LINK HERE](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qmkO8YqMlR7TzWDaaWu9yMWKnIDTwNNe/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=112624943015473579853&rtpof=true&sd=true)
**NOTE**: Prospect criteria will be defined using the [NHL Guidelines](https://www.nhl.com/info/hockey-operations-guidelines).
**REMINDER!** Avoid downvoting those you disagree with in the comments, this whole exercise is focused on discussing prospects. People *WILL* have different opinions the farther we go.
**Candidates to be added next**: ~~Tuomisto~~, ~~Viro~~, ~~Niederbach~~, ~~Hanas~~, ~~Buium~~, ~~Savage~~, ~~Dower Nilsson(s)~~, ~~James~~, ~~Buchelnikov~~, ~~Augustine~~, ~~Gibson~~, ~~Doucet~~, ~~Cleveland~~, ??

Niederbach this time, still hopeful of a big season from him in SHL this year.
#13 is where we can really start throwing darts at the board.
Buium, James, Gibson, Cross, Dower-Nilsson(x2)
Neiderbach took a step back last year. I’m hopeful he can regain some of his momentum.
Savage, Tuomisto, Viro are on the outside looking in IMO.
I’m thinking Buium. this is now a really tough call.
Buium or James got my vote
It’s Crosscheck Hanas time, baby. Hoping to see him over a full season in the AHL because he seemed to be having a pretty good rookie season last year
Do we have to stop at 15?
That top 12 has me smiling. Best I’ve felt about our long term prospects in a while. Be fun watching some of these guys force their way in the line up. Just need one surprise stud to emerge to put me over the top.
Hanas then Buium then #15 is up in the air. That’s honestly really good that I have to keep thinking this hard this far into our prospect pool.
Going Hanas here, I like Buium too.
