From a kid that had a similar experience as a child in Atlanta, let me tell you just how much these events mean to kids. My mom signed me up for a similar camp the Flames held when I was 6. I never will forget how it didn’t feel like my skates were touching anything going out to the ice. When we got out there, the excitement hit. There stood Bryan Hextall, Guy Chouinard, Eric Vail, Tom Lysiak, and Bernie “Boom Boom”Geoffrion. This was probably the best 2 day stretch of my young life. They were so good to us. Unfortunately, all the pictures from that day were taken with Polaroids, so they’re gone now. Boom Boom was such a voice for hockey in the Southern US.
