We don’t have cap space when taking into account the the potential performance bonuses for our ELC players… there’s almost 6 million currently and if you add in Cole and Jiricek (less likely since I think he plays in Cleveland most of the year and his contract slides again) we get up to 8 million in bonuses… We need to maintain cap space for that so we don’t get a cap charge from bonuses in the 2024-2025 season.
Edit: If we do this trade it puts us up against the cap for this season NOT taking into account player performance bonuses. IF we do a cap dump trade like this we lose cap space for next season when we need to sign Marchenko + KJ + Cole + Chinny. We would lose almost 5 million cap space guaranteed for NEXT season 2024-2025 if we took the Myers cap dump with the potential of it to be even more than that. This trade is not even close to a possibility.

This website rarely has accurate information, however, being an EA nhl franchise GM, I do love the way Beauvillier sims… always becomes a top 6 player for me. Maybe it’ll happen IRL.

I don’t get why everyone wants to ship Peeker out. Thought he was developing just fine. He was in over his head with his minutes (as most jackets were last year), but we need a stay at home shot blocker and he’s been adequate in that role for his experience level. He still has a few years that he could improve as a D in general.
My eye test could be wrong, but I thought he played well in his role.

Seems weird; we already have a logjam at F, especially LW. He doesn’t seem to be a demonstrable upgrade on our other top 9 wingers.
