Jones is to small for now. Both Lindgren and Fox are 6' and under. Lindgren plays bigger than his size, taking a toll on him, injured for a bunch last 2 years. Will be done in 2 years if he continues to play that way. He plays with his heart, his body can't take it much longer. Jones will fill that void then.
From a couple things I saw on Jones, he toughened up a little in Hartford. He is still a smurf though. He does appear to have great vision and is a deceptive puckhandler who can get free to make a play. Still think the Rangers will keep him in Hartford unless someone gives them above and beyond. So the kid will be in Hartford again and get older. Hope he makes it.
Neither are very good defensively. Gustafsson’s put up offense at the NHL level though and he’s average size for a D. Jones is small. You have to think also that Laviolette was in on this. I really think Jones has his work cut out for him trying to beat him out. Jones would have to clear waivers to go to Hartford…….but it’s not going to do him a lot of good being the 7D and I had the impression last year he was frustrated not being in the NHL. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Rangers trade him.
