  1. Agree with the skepticism on the Arizona picks. I’m a Red Wings fan
Yzerman goes off the board every year it seems like lol. The difference is
when Yzerman goes off the board, it almost always ends up being a genius move. Everyone through the reached on Seider, Edvinsson, and Kasper
now Seider won a Caulder, Edvinsson looked amazing in his call up last season, and Kasper put up scoring numbers no one knew he had in him last year. People thought Danielson was a reach
but I’ll give Stevie the benefit of the doubt for now. Arizona doesn’t have that history, so
it looks like they’re just blowing it lol.

  2. I think the Jets did as well as anyone in this draft with Barlow and T-Birds goalie Milic, expecting that Wheels buy out today or tmmrrw to cap a great week.

  3. As a Blackhawks fan, obviously I am a bit biased, but honestly, they had a terrific Draft.
If you look at last year's Draft and what they did there, and add the talent that they got from this year's Draft, and now things are starting to look great for the Blackhawks!

Now, aside from my Blackhawks, I think there were 4 other teams that really nailed this Draft:

    4) Anehiem Ducks
    3) Philadelphia Flyers
    2) St Louis Blues
    1) Columbus Blue Jackets.

Each of these teams did very well with their 1st Overall Pick AND they did well with the rest of their picks as well. They also had one or two "steals" to compliment their 1st Overall Pick

  4. What happened to your normal background? Thanks for the video. Can you discuss the Canucks draft picks and rank their performance as well?

  5. I disagree with your statement, it was obvious that Arizona was going with Reinbacher, they went to see him 27 times during the year and picked another d-man much lower on the list with the 6th pick. With their budget issues to go see a guy so often, I am fairly sure the Canadian's brass knew that so they weren't willing to drop even two 2 spots for that.

  6. Re : Reinbacher, Montréal didn't trade down with either Philly @ 7th or Washington @ 8th because apparently Arizona would have picked him @ 6th.

  7. I strongly disagree with you pick of losers for MontrĂ©al. For the record, most fans today are warming up to Reinbacher after the explanations and interviews with the player, former teammate Éric Faille and the draft team. They didn't take Mitchkov for 3 reasons : 1. They didn't see him play and barely interview him, so they don't know the character of the player and they are strict on what culture they want to create. 2. Reinbacher is almost league ready, it wouldn't surprise me he start right away, while Mithckov is a 3 year wait. 3. Reinbacher a a Right Defenseman…an extremely difficult asset to get in the league and MontrĂ©al has only Mailloux and Barron in developpement. With Reinbacher, they now have a perfect 6 top defensemen prospect pool in development in MontrĂ©al long term and he could be the perfect fit for either Ghule or Hutson. Remember 2 or 3 years ago when all team wanted right Defense, it lead to crazy contract like the one for Poolman. Right D is rare and necessary and Reinbacher seems to have crazy high potential ! If your measuring best or worse on the fact a team past on MIthckov…then the 3 before the Habs are the worst. Second, MontrĂ©al did exctaly what they needed to do in their draft…they picked goalie, 3 in fact ! Fowler might be the surprise of the entire draft…that kid is impressive ! Also adding muscle like Arber Xhekaj brother was smart…We will see long term, but definitively not loser.

  8. Detroit incredibly reached for defensemen in the second round. With their desperate need for scoring they ignored several forwards for stay at home defensemen who either horribly skate or have low hockey IQ.

  9. Great report Mike.
Obviously….time is the best indicator as to the success of this draft. I like how the pundits go back and re-draft certain years….great fun to see how things turn out. Maybe you could add a redraft component to your program from time to time (or are you already foing it?)
Chicago…..A+++ Great pics and trades. GM is setting table for Bedard to have success.
Flyers….A+++ Getting Michkov is worth A+ in and of itself. Danny Briere already making his mark.
Habs….i think Reinbacher is a great selection….a big, right shot "D"…..picking for the future as their other right shot "D" getting older and trades may be possible. Reinbacher is 6'2"…..just imagine him in a couple years with Logan Maillieux also on the team and also 6'3" right shot "D" tearing it up in OHL…..wow!!!!! They are set for the right shot "D" position. Glad Habs got a couple of "G" too.

  10. Wild looser, Pittsburgh looser, Philly winner , a tam not many are not talking about St. Louis 3 Swedens players , , coyotes ont think looser , heard a very smart hockey guy say this maybe a great draft for them in 3 years , , Canucks looser

  11. Looks like Arizona was going to take Reinbacher at 6 if Montreal wasn't going to take him. So moving to 7 they would have not gotten him.

  12. I'm not sure about putting Minnesota as a loser. Being in the central with Chicago you are gonna need someone with Stramels size leaning on bedard and Moore. Plus Riley heidt was a steal with the last pick in round 2.

  13. I hate the Leafs but Easton Cowan is a W. Watched him live all year in London, he’s gonna lead the O in scoring this year. Can’t miss on THE London Knights.

  14. At end of the day the Gary Bettman rewarded a franchise that believes in child rape. The NHL should have taken atleast 1 year if not 3 years worth of 1st round draft picks

  15. The Rangers draft almost wasn't worth rating! But saying that, Perrault was clearly the best of their picks, and only quality NHL prospect chosen!

  16. You are such a Arizona hater lol. It’s insane how much they live rent free in your head. Barret was lighting it up last year. The picks we took have the highest ceiling in this draft. Also just fyi “hockey expert” Vancouver would have taken simachev at 9 so we got him where we could. Just try to be a little more informed if you’re going to talk about it.

  17. Do u think the sens could have done better top? I feel like sens had a chance toget a #1 draft pick cause of debrincat

  18. Bro you are tripping. I saw so many draft reports with Simachev being top 10 and But being top 15. With picks 6 and 12, solid. Also, But probably has the highest ceiling in this draft. They both play on the same team, are good friends, and will come over to NA together at the same time. That in and of itself will pay dividends.

  19. For the Leafs pick, one of COL and CAR were going to pick him right after the Leafs, which is why they did not trade down. I like the pick if they think he has 1st line upside, and it's a swing for the fences.

  20. MIN getting Riley Heidt late in the 2nd round, I think saves their draft. If they took Heidt at 21, you don't make a big deal of it because he was a consensus 1st round pick. And if they took Stramel at 64 you probably don't bat an eye.

  21. No one wanted to trade up because it was an extremely deep draft. St.Louis blues scouts are quoted as saying this was ranked as a top 3 draft in the last 29 years.
