Easy Calder favourite
Makar was equal in CF% and FF% with Hughes. But he lead in SF%, GF%, xGF%, SCF%, HDCF%, MDCF%, MDGF%, LDGF%. Hughes lead in HDGF% and LDCF%. Makar also had more hits and a better takeaway/giveaway ratio and blocked shots. Makar also started his shift more in the dzone. I don’t wanna head “Hughes is a 2way”. They are both offensive dmen and Makar was better defensively

I was at that game, in the car to the Pepsi Center I told my brother I hope Makar scores his first goal…and he did. I was so happy I got to witness it.

Amazing story. He is AWESOME!! Glad he is on our side. I remember watching this game and as he was skating by the bench to do the fist bumps he was getting hosed down with Gatorade bottles as he went by. It was hilarious. I can't find it anywhere.
