  1. So far these comments seem like an angry mob. Check to the head? Yeah, clearly. Suspension? Maybe one game, mayyyybe. Wasn't intentional imo.

  2. There are so many examples of this. This should make teams realize the we NEED enforcers. The canes have two in Sheppard and Stortini. BRING THEM UP!

  3. That was a nice sell by staal. If he actually knew how to skate, would have been your average check

  4. well if their gonna suspend mcdavid and eichel for similar hits, then he needs to be suspended but let’s see how the joke of player safety deals with this one

  5. Van Reimsdyk throws a grand total of 0 punches and 1 mouthguard. Good thing the zebras stepped in it was getting real dicey!

  6. Don't think Gourde expected him to lean into a one handed pass which he dropped his head for, not suspension worthy in the slightest.

  7. two games? lol NHL safety department, you get two, and you get two and you get two as well. everybody gets two

  8. Softest call! Watch it in real time and see how Staal falls forward as gourde is skating for the bodycheck all while making a play for the puck. Incidental contact to the head shouldn’t warrant a match penalty or a suspension. Just because staal has a history of head injuries doesn’t mean this was intentional. Let’s not forget Staal is 6’4 and yanni is 5’9. Ridiculous!

  9. Oh so this is how Tampa gets their Presidents Trophy? Classless bastards. Enjoy that 2nd round exit.

  10. Not intentional. Gourde had the check lined up and he hunched forward to jab at the puck. Unfortunate, but it's a penalty. No suspension will be issued.

  11. Imagine someone of Staal's height getting his head low enough that someone as small as Gourde can get his head.

  12. what's to prevent the forwards from skating low now? Keeping their head down? Hockey sense has gotten dumber and dumber. IT's not just about hitting it's about learning to take hits or know expect the hit.

  13. So what was his plan… either hit the leaning guy into the boards, or blast through the head? 😂😂 This isn’t his first questionable incident is it?
