It was a total pick play by Malkin, he dished off the puck and took out Oshie, who was going for the puck, not Malkin. Interference and a head shot. Suspension. Watch the video again, Malkin knew he was coming and took him out. Oshie was not even going after Malkin because he'd already dished off the puck. Clearly most of you commenters don't understand hockey.

I think both guys are being idiots here. Malkin didn't have to lift his shoulder into Oshie's head, but wtf was Oshie doing skating into Malkin? Didn't even look like Oshie was going to hit him.

Malkin carries puck across the blue line, see's Oshie coming across. He braces for a hit and gets called for a penalty because he got run into by Oshie's head, and gets called for a head shot!?!? Thts where the ref's should be looking at the replay and changing their call! Brutal!

Where's the 20 game suspension? Malkin has a history of slew foots and dangerous hits, this is brutal! He did not drop his shoulder defensively, he dropped it and then used his low energy to thrust upward into his head as Oshie was side-stepping very vulnerable weight transfer behind him to get to the puck. Malkin made that choice to connect as subtle as he made it look, that was brutal.
Bruh if Wilson did that he would get suspended for the season
This is one of the first times I've seen the player on the offensive side of the play getting an unsportsmanlike.
Malkin never actually looks to see him coming. Sure he sees someone coming from the side and braces but that's the issue with slow mo seems worse. Look at Malkin he never turns his head he nos someone's coming but doesn't target anything hes just getting ready to take a hit as he drops the puck off for Crosby

Minor action, largely a height differential at play here. It's a normal play, just bad positioning on Oshie's part that he got hit in a bad place.

Lol at Pens fans here. Oshie is covering the puck carrier on a power play entry, and after closing off Malkin, he is trying to duck behind to cover Crosby. He’s not going for a hit, that’s not his MO, nor is it really any player’s MO when playing the penalty kill. Who knows, only Malkin does, but it sure looks like Malkin is trying an aggressively reckless preemptive hit than it does look like he’s trying to protect himself.
Oshie clearly skated into him he just braced for the unavoidable contact because Oshie was invading his space
So Oshie aniciates the hit and Malkin prepared to be hit… tell me how thats a ejectable play? Are players supposed to go limp before a hit and become a target? The officiating in the NHL is by far, the worst in pro sports.
