Hopefully it moves Letang off of the first pairing defense and hopefully it moves Letang to the second power play unit. Because Letang is nowhere near the level of skill that Karlson is.
Burns won Norris trophy before Karlsson came to San Jose it won’t work having 2 offense defenseman in power play because the team will always be caught on 2 on 1 short handed that’s what happened for the sharks when Karlsson and burns were playing and teams would score and beat them 2 on 1 short handed when the sharks where on the power play

Letang was our best defensive defenseman in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

I'm hopeful Friedman gets the nod over Ruhwedel. I feel like he brings the fire and tenacity that you need on your bottom pairing
