Bruins goal disallowed by hand pass – Have your say!

Did Jake DeBrusk commit a hand pass here? The Bruins scored but after review it was taken off the board because of this play. Tough Call will be reviewing the incident. Have your say!

  1. I’m sure this is the rule, but he had no intention to touch the puck. It was a complete accident. And he moved it like 1cm and didn’t affect the play at all.

  2. Sure, the contact was there but i wouldnt say this is considered as handpass, in fact debrusk was not targeting the puck pass to berge. Same thing could be if defenseman shot the puck on net and it deflects of players hand and the rebound was put on net…i dont see diff here. Surely not handpass, terrible call there by the reffs

  3. Awful. Following the misguided NFL into review insanity and stupidity. No real hocjey fan could approve of this

  4. The puck went from an opened hand to a team mate in the offensive zone. There is no rule specifying the minimum length a transfer of the puck must make to be considered a pass,

  5. I'm sure you all would be saying that if the shoe were on the other foot. You Boston fans have blamed. The coach the team the officials. Who are you gonna blame next the milkman? Why don't you blame the panthers because that's the real reason!

  6. The rule needs to be updated. Should be the same as the kicking motion rule. There was no intent there at all and his hardly touching of the puck actually made it harder to control. There is no way this was the right call. its all good game 6 for Boston at home and they will just all make more money over this !!!

  7. That’s a pretty rough call to have got against your team. I can see that call being right in the same way that the Leafs had a goal called back earlier this season for a glove pass where the other team touched it first (but didn’t gain possession) – it’s ticky tac call. But on the other side, at least this rule isn’t open to interpretation and so you know exactly what it will be every time.

  8. This is ice hockey not soccer where it would be free kick or a penalty. The play clearly shows he is picking up his stick and there is no passing puck motion to his teammate. Bruins were robbed of a goal. The outcome of this game could have been a bruins win. NHL play on review person must be a rookie who does not no rule. Shame on that call.
    From HAB land.

  9. From the NHL '23 Rules

79.1 Hand Pass – A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the

air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the

play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the on-ice officials,

he has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to

gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the

puck is obtained by a player of the offending team, either directly or

deflected off any player or official.

There is no conclusive evidence that any advantage was gained, as Bergeron was able to access the puck either way, and possession was already held by the Bruins. Incorrect call, it's really embarrassing honestly, where this is during a review that requires conclusive evidence.

  10. That was total BULLS🤬T CALL!!! He barely even touched the puck, only his fingertips touched! This is #BostonScrewjob all over again!!! F🤬K THAT REFEREE!!!🖕🖕🖕

  11. This bogus call altered the psyche of the Bruins. Which caused them to ultimately lose game 6. I mean look at Forsling #42 of the Panthers. Holding Debrusk #74 down down. You call handpass while Debrusk was picking up his stick and accidently touched the puck with his finger but not interference on Forsling? If you are to call handpass on Debrusk. Then also call interference on Forsling. This game had no integrity. So the win from Florida was fraudulent? I think so. Florida fans and the rest of those outside Boston may say the Bruins were frauds. After winning the Presidents trophy then eliminated from the 1st round of the playoffs. I say game 6 was a fraud and the Bruins were robbed of not only this goal as shown in this video but momentum to win that game. Which yes no guarantee they would have won. But I believe it was more likely to win than not to win.
