Great Petry is back ! and we got rid of Hoffman (a captain !!!). Pitlick had no future with the Habs
Seems Primeau's days in Mtl are coming to and end.
DeSmith's NHL GAA is 2.81(3 seasons) substantially better than Montembault but he's 31 years old a temp at best but at 1.8 million with only 1 year left he 's cheap!
Unloading Hoffman and Pitlick is yet again another genius move by Hughes!

Interesting – Crosby's gotta be happy. Petry didn't belong wearing a Penguin anyway. Even a bear knows that! 🐻
But its kind of neat when a player leaves a team and then is wanted & brought back. I hope that's the case.
I know Petry was drafted to the oilers but he's always going to be a Hab to many.
DeSmith is an interesting move… I like to follow goalies.
We gave up nothing, gained cap space, and i do believe we will trade Petry, AND a goalie ( DeSmith or Allen).
Its good asset management. Remember, we are not trting to won today.

I wonder if they brought in Petry simply to flip him or maybe….the Habs think Reinbacher will make the team out of training camp and they want Petry to be a RD mentor.
