Brandt Clarke is Canada best defenseman prospect imo. I think he's better than Zellweger in most aspects on the ice especially in his own zone
Best U.S. defensemen is by far Lane Hutson.
Fun fact about Levi Merilainen he holds the record in Liiga for most shutouts by a rookie goalie in Liiga history beating out a goalie like Saros also Merilainen is absolutely elite in shootouts
With these prospects Slovakia looks like they could potentially become better than Finland in the near future if these prospects pan out

People are way overrating players' production when they play for stacked CHL teams. Mintyukov and Zellweger both played for really good teams and scored a lot because of it. There are way more goals scored on the rush in the CHL than the NHL, so being a puck moving defenseman guarantees that you will get a lot of points. These points don't translate though, because there is a lot more dump and chase in the nhl instead of just walking through defenders. Tyson Barrie absolutely lit up the WHL, but we only consider him to be an average NHL defenseman.
i would have Lambert and Kemell tied for 1st.

Love the exercise, would've loved to see the most promising kids from Switzerland, as they regularly provide very strong NHLers.
For France you'd have to go with goalie Antoine Keller, recently drafted by the Caps in the 7th round, defenseman Ulysse Tournier who at barely 19 had a solid breakout year in the Ligue Magnus(France #1 pro league), you could also go with Paul Nassivet who had better numbers in international games for France U20 but has yet to play at the same level with his new club. You'd round it off with right winger Pierrick Dubé, who was in the Habs system until last season and just got offered a 2-way ELC with the Capitals as well.
No love for Pavel Mintyukov? With his production and accolades alone, I would think he would be considered the top Russian D prospect. Good size and even though offensively minded he is also very good on the defensive side as well. Still, always fun to watch vids like this.
Going to be interesting to see which one one Luke Hughes or Lane Hutson will turn out to be the best, but they will definitively carry team USA for a while.

Alexander Nikishin is BY FAR a much better prospect than Simashev as of right now. It’s unbelievable how nobody talks about the historical season he just had as a 20-21 year old defenseman in the KHL. He broke Kirill Kaprizov’s point record for an u22 player which is insane considering he’s a defenseman! C’mon Grav you need to acknowledge him soon
