Pearson LTIR incoming
Studnicka and Dries go down (or DJ Zappy) and then Poolman on LTIR puts us about 900k over, so I’m not entirely sure on that without Pearson being LTIR to start the season.
Reminder Castonguay is the one managing the cap and contract negotiations, last year she did [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/y0sscu/capfriendly_this_is_a_first_ever_the_vancouver/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
I believe this group has it figured out. Bennings group seemed to wing it and not think ahead at all, this new group seems to be more organized.
There is likely a pathway that involves papering people down, and not dressing a full roster.
Fucking how
I’ve got us with a 23 man roster that has us at -$1,021,667. Waiving any player that makes over this number would put us at cap compliance at a 22 man roster.
We’ll know if Myers is going after Sept. 1 when his bonus gets paid.
People are mentioning Beauvillier, but honestly he has slotted in so well taking over Horvat’s position when we tried him there with the team at full strength. We need him.
Boeser is also at that similar cap hit, but it’d be nice to keep him.
Pearson on LTIR is ideal, and honestly I think the recovery of a bionic hand should need much more longer conditioning and physio than the time he’s had off.
Are… are they going to have someone killed?
I don’t approve of this method of becoming cap compliant.
Castonguay’s working her magic
My guess is a mutually terminated contract once Myers receives his $5 million dollar bonus freeing him up to sign anywhere he wants and to play for more money in 2023-2024 then he would be paid otherwise. ($5 million bonus + a new 2023-2024 contract + more money for Myers).
Does the plan have anything to do with a shovel and a woodshed
I should hope this tweet is true. I think the Canucks would be the first team in the league history for a cap overage at the start of the season.
It would be a black eye on this management group and the hight of recklessness if they blundered the cap.
