Korpisalo’s clutch save helps eliminate Maple Leafs
Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Joonas Korpisalo comes through with a clutch save, denying Andreas Johnsson and keeping the score 2-0 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers
So I actually wanted to Toronto to win this and then have a quick first round exit from the playoffs cause I didn't want there to be a chance that Lafreniere should be suffered to have to play in the circus that is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
To be honest though. I didn't think the leafs were going to beat the Jackets…the Jackets are a hard working team that deals with a tough coach and plays hard for him because they believe its worth it. While the leafs are a team that had a tough coach fired because he wanted them to work hard and they didn't want to.
I can't watch the leafs anymore, I cannot find the strength within myself to see them play every year just so they can throw it away every single time. At this point, first-round exits may as well be a tradition for us and I can't stand it. I'm watching strictly raptors basketball from now on and I don't care, if we win a cup in 5 years then fine, but I'd rather live 5 happy years not watching hockey then suffering 4 of them seeing our team getting clowned on social media and struggling to pass a puck twice in a row. sidenote: Dear Tavares, you are worth nowhere near what we paid you, if you are going to continue to dissapoint then leave the team, i dont care if it was your childhood dream, i dont care if you like it here, i know approximately 76 u13 boys that couldve played better then you tonight yet you're the one receiving 11 mil a year to do so. Thanks for making me hate my life
Leafs need a number 1 defenseman in the playoffs who knows how to win and has grit. I think they should go for Drew Doughty and/or Brent Burns. I'm tired of this Leafs defense. Every year! Sacrifice some of the offense for excellent D and add grit somehow!
Sell the whole toppline, Tavares , Marner, Nylander and Matthews. It´s proven now that they can't produce. Move on. Get better D´s and some F´s without greedy hearts.

People seem to forget that this DOESN'T count as a first round exit; far worse that that this was the qualifier to GET to the first round.

Well, it's official.
Both of the Hub Cities' teams have been eliminated from the playoffs.
The good news, their buildings will still host real playoff games. Their regular occupants, however, won't be participating in them.
