To be fair to Conroy, he said that he didn't want to go into next season with seven UFA's. He traded Troffoli so he lived up to his word, he is only going into next season with six. This team should rebound this year, but even playing at their potential they remain a mid of pack marginal playoff team. They simply do not have enough elite talent to be a top ten team.
Calgary needs playerS that put the puck in the net, which they been lacking for years. 8.5- 8.7 mil for Lindholm, if not, trade him. Depending on Flames season the following should be the play. Backlund and Tanov are in the 33 and 34 age range, trade them at trade deadline or let contract expire. Cgy should move on from Hanifin before season starts, and use Vladar to sweeten any trade deal.
