With Shane Wright having something to prove this upcoming season, I took a look at previous consensus #1 picks that dropped in their draft year. What other players do you recall having been consensus #1 picks?

I think Wright & Lind both had wonky starts. Both are solid players.
I remember a time period when putting a high pick into the pros right off the bat was considered…insane.
Like yes there were some amazingly talented players that could make it from day one out of the draft (and I mean like…2 a year…maybe) to now if the kid isn’t in the line-up that following fall people are calling out BUST!
It’s not an easy transition. It’s far too soon to be concerned about any draft pick that just got selected in the last year.
