Braden Schneider although only being a bottom pairing defensemen currently has a ton of potential to turn into a very good top 4 Dman. He’ll likely be partnered with Ben Harpur, Zac Jones, Erik Gustafsson or Matthew Robertson.

A right-side Ryan Lindgren with potentially more offensive pop (like 35 without PP1 time) if paired with an LD that doesn't need to be covered all the time. Schneider's development is so important to this team, his development will determine Trouba's fate IMO. In fact, it's the development of KK, Chytil, Lafreniere, Miller and Schneider which will determine how far this team is going in the next 2 years.
I think he approaches 25 points this year … and as far as his partner, well toss a coin in the air between Jones and Gustafsson.
To me, Schneider is the perfect compliment to all the offensive defenceman we have on the roster. I really like the McDonagh comparison, but to me Schneider is a combination of Ryan Callahan (even though he is not a defenceman) and Ryan McDonagh in his style of play. He will not necessarily wow you with his plays, but he will hit anything that moves and is very solid in his own zone.
I know this roster is pretty much set , and Drury not looking to add anymore unless something really goofy happens and they move Lafi instead of resigning him , but I look and still see Maxim Comtois and Pius Suter out on the market and I want to add then to this team .. call me greedy or crazy lol bit they're both still young , bottom end depth pieces , should be a minimum contract … add them to the mix in preseason, move some pieces around and see where guys all fit in adds a little flexibility… and Suters PK alone is reason to give a look … tell me I'm crazy ? lol
