Lol no offence, but the Red Wings LOST in this trade. One little piece of important info that you may have missed about Petry, is that the moment he is not comfortable with the defensive system, heโll go from a Top 4 to a 7th D performance EASILYYY. And itโll be super hard for this red wings team to teach a 35 yr old dog, new tricks.

Didn't petry and chiarot play together on the same line
Our D men have a tendency to get injured and force the goalies to work with a AAA blue line. These guys waiting in the wings will get to play. Edvinsson is going to be able to play. Johannsen is going to play.
This is a GREAT problem to have ๐ , i personally see another trade happening but im liking this D right now
Last offseason Yserman signed about 6 new players. Everyone thought that was alot but it ended up being critical with all the injuries.We cannot expect everyone to be healthy this season. If they prove themselves in GR, they will get a chance in Detroit. If they aren't ready they should stay in GR. That's what happened with the 6"8 beast last season. He got a chance but ultimately he wasn't ready.

We have a handful of D-Men that will be in the NHL in the next 3 years. All these guys that we have now Ghost 1 year, Petry 2 years, Matta 2 years, Holl 3 years, and Chiarot 2 years, will be FA's or traded. Edvinsson is out for awhile and Wallinder and Johansson get 1 more year to improve. I think Steve Y is looking towards the 2024/25 season for the younger guys. Even guys like Kasper, Soderblom, Mazur, and Lombardi all are getting another year at GR with some of the signings this off season. Looks like Yzerman is trying to make the playoffs to please the fans before tanking again in 2 years.
Good move. Concern is we now have 7 multi-million dollar DMen, trade may be probable but this provides good depth and who wants Chiarot, Holl or Maata? What does this mean or say about Edvinsson?
