That was a clean hit, Fowler lost an edge before Doan hit him, thats why he got hurt. And he had to hit him, whats he supposed to do, let him score. Doan was suspended for his blindside headshot on Sexton later in the game, and Sexton didn't even have the puck, so that was a cheap shot in my opinion.
you know, 3 games is a lot for a small thing like this, fowler was really low inthe first place. on the other hand it's good the NHL is actually enforcing the bad hitting going on. on the other other hand how come Hjalmerson's hit on pominville got 3? i think this isn't nearly as bad
Im a Ducks fan and I dont think there should of been a call (and there wasnt) but Im glad they nailed Doan for hitting Sexton later, just because he didnt injure him doesnt change the fact that it was a late hit near the head
@carlosyhector Actually, because of the lack of hooking in the new NHL, the game is fast, plus bigger players.
And to those who would say NHL goalies were tougher back in the day, I remind you that slap shots didn't come in vogue until the early 70s because coaches didn't want defenses setting up because they felt the wind-up took too long.
But if you were a real hockey fan, and not someone looking for an MMA fight on ice, you'd know all of this. Most hockey players still have their teeth.
Cages should me mandatory in the NHL. So many injuries would have been prevented if they enforced that rule already. Hockey is tough enough, there's no reason players should take pointless injuries to the face.
obviously the hit sucks for cam but wow i wish cam would play with the offensive confidence that he has here more often. its a thing of beauty up until he gets doan'd behind the net

The guy lost an edge, unlucky perhaps, but I think any suspension is justified if it sets a precedent and prevents players from being concussed.

yeah he plays the game on edge and is a really good guy and leader off of the ice for young guys to look up to
