1/5 for me; I watched Samsonov choke like a president on a pretzel in DC, and while he's a strong regular season goalie, he has not demonstrated the capacity to perform under pressure. In 8 games he has a career post-season record of 1-6, and his playoff GAA and Save% are inflated from mop-up relief appearances with far less at stake. Leafs lose in the first round, and I doubt Samsonov ends the series as the starter.
I like Samsonov…. but I want to LOVE the guy, but until the Leafs "Win a Cock-a-doodle Playoff series" and Yes I said that with a frighteningly similar accent then that of 'Annie' from the movie "MISERY", lol… but until they win a round NOBODY gets a winning grade. Hopefully he plays lights out and we can all say 4 or 5 outta 5…. but Until then, what has he actually accomplished to earn anything more??
Ovi hates samsonov and vice versa. Ovi gets what he wants with the caps. It must have been tough for Sammy to stay focused in Washington. Still put up decent numbers. We are now watching a 15th overall goalie in a draft shine. If he played bad in Washington he probably got ridiculed by ovi. In Toronto his teammates let him be and supports him. He's the future between the pipes for us. I love this guy
What's the issue here? How are people still talking about Leafs goaltending as if its a concern? I don't hear this happening elsewhere. Just a note, Samsonov statistically is better than Shesterkin, Vasilevski, Skinner, Raanta to name a few.

I am have a 5/5 level of confindence in Ilya Samsonov. I am a bias leafs fan though.
He's a choke artist. I'm predicting Tor doesn't make it out of the first round. Bold prediction but I stand by it.

I like Leaf goalies like Reimer, Campbell and Samsonov. They play well in the regular season. Hope Samsonov has a good playoff series against Tampa.
