I am changing up the format a bit with the season previews, and we start with Detroit.

It’s honestly time they do something of substance. We can’t keep treading water.
With so many changes they'll be lucky to get off to a fast start – if they do then hats off to the coaching staff.
So.. should I invest in a Bally's Detroit sports subscription this year or wait and see if Bally's folds?
Ahh NHL coming back up again. Time to hopefully see a new Ducks season arise. Will have to fly back to Anaheim from both Nevada and Japan to see them play! Even though I live part-time in Nevada, I'm not a VGK fan.
Shannon is now a Wings fan, through and through sold into the Yzerplan and HockeyTown! And he loves how good he looks in that Winged Wheel!!!
Oh, and we have the best commentary in the sporting world with Ken and Mick.
Thise Devils comparisons…
I mean, somewhat valid. But New Jersey had Hughes and Hischier. It was a question of time for them to start to be the formidable 1-2 punch down the middle. Wings kinda don't have such prospects. Raymond and Seider are cool, but they aren't 1C-2C.
impressive numbers by larkin, seeing that no one else was close to him
The front-loaded home schedule is a double-edged sword. Slow start could be a dagger in the heart of Yzerplan 2019 and have Wings' fans dreaming for return of the Holland-Blashill dynasty.
I love your season previews. This season is gonna be a great one.
"Adding Petry, Holl and Gostisbehere" will hopefully relegate Chiarot to the press box for most games this year.
Ive been watching Hockey since early 70's. As a Laffs fan, I find it frustrating to realize that the Wings, who were enemies, have torn down and rebuilt about 4 times, while Toronto has never completely torn down & rebuilt properly in 50 years. The results speak for themselves. Id take an 8 year laps anytime.
Can't wait to see the posts stat for each team. Seems like Nikata Kucherov had weeks with 10 posts or more.
Husso is fine. I'd have to agree that he's not up to snuff for a playoff goalie. That's not where the team is at though
Redwings will be in the playoffs this season
LGRW
What about Soderblom?
Husso was overworked. The two back ups were less than stellar.
LET'S. FRIGGIN. GO. RED WINGS BABY!!!
Ah finally- season previews.
I can already see the leaves changing, taste the apple cider, and feel the crisp cool air while gazing at clear blue skies!
I’ve followed the Redwings since the late 80s with Klima, Gallant and Coach Demers. After the Lemieux hit on Kris Draper I believed they were just never going to win anything. But 4 cups later and I believe in the Yzer-plan and go Wings
My disapointment wasn't that Yzerman sold, it was that the team told him they weren't ready when it really seemed like they might be. As far as what's happened since the sale, it looks VERY good. If they aren't ready to make a run at the playoffs this year, I will be worried. Yzerman has done a good job clearing out the excuses for losing. Graph go up good.
Goooooooo wiiiiiiiiiiiiings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well they signed Justin Holl so I’m sure they’ll be great
With so much cap space i could see Yzerman do an other big splash similar to the Debrincat trade
Kane could be it, he already played with great chemistry with DeBrincat, he is good enough to to be top6 which improves all the lines below by pushing down better players, but he is cup hunting not could maybe make the playoff hunting.
Tatar is still available, he's a perennial 20 goal scorer and already played a lot for Detroit, he could be a deluxe 3rd liner that could play 2nd line minutes if there is injuries for probably much cheaper than Kane would, which leaves room easily for an other move to take place, but he is still available for a reason is he cup hunting or does he chase the biggest contract he can get, did him or his agent got a bid too greedy ?
Who knows maybe in an other dimension both sign for 1 year and relatively cheap, because the timing wasn’t right to get the contract they wanted and Detroit offered more then the others … on paper it could make Detroit much more of a threat, having 4 offensively capable lines.
It is much more likely the big move comes in the form of a trade.
No, they can't.
It doesn't help that they are in a gruesomely tough division but I just don't see enough elite talent on this team.
Moritz Seider is the only guy that really jumps out at me.
I have liked The Yzerplan so far but I think it's time for a bold move. I would love to see Detroit make a huge trade with Winnipeg. Hellebuyck is on the trade block and he is a Michigan native. It would hinge on getting to sign an extension first and then trade for him. I think 5 years at $9 million per year is a fair deal for both sides. Winnipeg needs to trade him for the best return. They would need a goalie and prospects. The Wings have both. Hellebuyck for Husso and two prospects. This trade shouldn't hinder the team at all and though I'd hate to see a top prospect like Edvinsson or Kasper leave you must trade talent to get talent.
Thanks for the video. It seems to me that some of my fellow Wings fans are getting antsy and aren't happy with the moves Yzerman has made. I think the pain we're feeling now is a direct result of the decisions of the previous management staff, and the fact that Detroit has little to no lottery luck.
I think Steve has done a great job bringing some respect back to the Winged Wheel. Perfect? of course not, but if you measure against perfection you will always be disappointed.
One thing you can’t question is the fact the Red Wings are better off with Yzerman at the helm than without.
