  2. I'm not throwing shade at you, but you are definitely remembering this with Rose colored glasses. The 21 off-season had just as many lows as highs, starting the moment the Devils got the #2 pick. Let me be specific… Fitz promised a player with "immediate impact", he was even willing to trade the pick for the right player…then he proceeded to sleep on Fiala, was surprised by the DeBrincat trade, missed out on Husso (though I think he did wake up here and signed Vanecek) couldn't close on Gaudreau and was spurned by Tkachuk. Montreal took Slafkovsky and Fitz passed on Wright for a Defensemen (a position noted for taking longer to develop) each of the players above were "locks" to go to the Devils and Fitz could not deliver on any of them.
And…Fitzgerald brought back Ruff…every fan and sports media person in the tri-
    state area scratched their head…why?

All that was the backdrop to the start if the 2022-23 season. 2021-2022 was an embarrassing season, on paper the team looked good injuries and poor performances contributed to the team woefully underperforming…. then the Devils lost their first two game…to teams that were absolute rubbish the year before.

  3. Tht 2012 run was an absolute fluke. Didn’t compare to the rangers in the slightest bit. Outclassed in offense, defense, goaltending and coaching! What a shame to loose to a team thts worse than their own in every way….. similar to 2023 but at least tht was was a lot closer even though the rangers were still a better team….

  4. A couple of mistakes (Zubrus wasn't a dman, 52 wins not 55 wins last year, etc), maybe mention Shero taking over after Lou's resignation since he was the one making all of those moves including Hall – but overall a great recap video. Good job, and glad those times are now behind us for a while!
