Grant McCagg is one of my favorite follows on Twitter because he so routinely says incredibly stupid stuff. Great entertainment lol

  2. Square-Compote-8125

see: O’Reilly, Ryan Buffalo to St. Louis trade.

  3. AndyGreyjoy

I like seeing Joe Thornton peek through Kotkiniemi & Matthew’s heads.

The KK/AM take was particularly horrible.

Thinking Seth Jones is good was also pretty bad.

Eichel, while I don’t think anyone is a “loser” even they made it to the highest level of their sport, has never become the superstar people expected.

The Shesterkin and Hughes takes were defensible in the moment, but showed how thinking long-term with your RFAs is the smart move now. Hughes could become the best value contract in the NHL in the next couple years on a team with a few great deals.

Not gonna lie I didn’t think Tkachuk was going to hit 100pts again…

  6. TheOlSneakyPete

That last one isnt wrong. Seth Jones is good. Ignore the contract and he’s a good hockey player.

Got to laugh at the Tkachuk one. He literally got 100 pts and was the one person in their room that everyone rallied behind.

  8. DrSeuss19

Interesting how much hate American players get…

Seth Jones is overpaid and not an elite #1 dman but some of the ridicule he gets on here is an equally bad take. If he got traded to a good team with some retention on his contract I think we’d see another roll out of highlighted bad takes.

The only one that rings a bit unfair is Seth Jones. He helped lead Columbus to the playoffs for 4 straight years and his numbers were at their best when Panarin was on the team. Unfortunately Panarin jumped ship and then a couple years later Jones was traded to an already regressing Chicago team. Outside Jones Chicago might have the worst established D talent in the league. He’s still 28 years old which is still in his prime and with Bedard and a young core brewing you can’t tell me he doesn’t have the chance to show what he’s truly capable of surrounded by the best talent of his career.

Who woulda guessed some random people on their couch know less then professionals.

  12. AroraCorealis

nah steve was cookin with that tweet

  13. Hakuchansankun

Color me unsurprised yet also unconvinced. It’s not like he won the conn smythe and carried the team.

  14. orbsonb

There was a notorious old “Petr Prucha vs Sidney Crosby” poll on HFBoards back in 2005 or early 2006. At least one poster confidently said they’d rather have Prucha long-term.

  15. BureForSureEH

Yea but how did the guy know kuzmenko was the goat back in 2021?

  16. That KK Matthews take has aged as well as Mickey Rourke.

  17. Jefflehem

Who told you that; Steve? What does Steve know about it, anyway?

  18. Mythalium

“Phil Kessel is a fat tub of lard that’s robbing us blind, look at him! He’s eating hot dogs on the way to every game. He just puts up points and does nothing else!”

  19. Iliketomeow85

There is no president trophy curse, the Bruins are for real!!!!

  20. Some of those were immediately poor takes

  21. BurnV06

The Kotkaniemi one didn’t age poorly, it was completely absurd from the moment it was posted

  22. redittjoe

The Eichel one was going to be shit anyway you took it from both pro and con. The Sabres fucked with him on building around him and he was also bad with his chemistry issues with dealing with teammates. Both parties could be blamed for the shit show. But that’s past. I really don’t care who was at fault. Both didn’t deserve each other

  23. DeepPucks

Let’s not forget Hughes going after Aho. Didn’t think the kid had sandpaper in his game. Playoffs changed my mind.
