    My Super early grade for Briere/Jones is a C+. I thought they sent shock waves early with Provorov trade. Some thought the prospect coming back to flyers should have been stronger but I was just happy with 1st round pick. This is where I think Briere & Co dropped the ball a little in selecting Bonk who is not good value in 1st round. But the system is really lacking in defenseman so on some level you could understand their level of desperation. The Hayes trade was mind bending in that I think they could have rolled out of bed half asleep in the middle of the night and gotten a 6th round pick for him from anyone. Couldn't they have worked on that little longer to improve the return. There are some factors outside of Briere control such as HC but he ultimately makes final decisions (we hope). We also heard from Jones that they want to behave more like the Eagles as a organization. One thing I know is the Eagles wouldn't be heading into the season with so many bloated contracts for aging players. I think the Flyers needed to make atleast two more trades before the season starts to ensure they don't become a fringe bubble playoff team. I am still upbeat about this rebuild but they need to be aggressive at trade deadline (as sellers) for me to fully buy in. I almost forget the Michkov selection was fantastic and I am fairly confident previous GM Fletcher does not have the fortitude to make that selection.

    In any successful rebuild you need to hit at least 2 home runs. Currently it looks like Michkov should be one, that leaves another big swing in 2024 and possibly 2025. I feel you need a foundation of home grown talent that will define the franchise and build around that. Lastly stop signing Big Name Free Agents! I cannot Name one franchise that was turned around by signing one, you always end up with a player that has too much term for too much money.

    If its true Laughton at St Louis for a first and a second round pick they missed this one nothing against Laughton I like this player but in a rebuild 🏒🤔

    I'm just glad its something different from the throw money at a wall and think one new player will change the team. Watching Giroux waste his prime ruined my taste for the game. 2021 and 2022 seasons were just brutal because the lack of direction. Knowing something different is happening is a step in the right direction. Most people are on board because of that alone.

    I'll say this regarding the Flyers. Theyve been very transparent as far as telling fans to be patient. That this is a rebuild. Theyve renewed my interest and optimism as a fan because they have a plan in place and you know what the endgame is. Unlike…..the 76ers…..
