  1. I think the Cup has spent more time in Canada this summer than anytime since 1993😅
VGK had the most Canadians of all the teams last season

  2. RJ wasn't supposed to go until the sabres won a cup. it's been days and we are all still hurting deeply. RIP RJ <3 We all miss you.

  3. Makar is a great pick as the cover for NHL 24. In several Avs games I watched this year he was the best player on the ice, and it wasn't close.

  4. Happy you enjoyed your trip and made it back home safely. Looking forward to you making more videos soon without toothpicks holding your eyelids open.

  5. Jets have 10 defenceman
Chisholm is waivers eligible now,Heinola can't keep playing for Moose.
    Then have Capobianco,Samberg,Schmidt,Pionk,Stanley,Demelo,Dillon,Morrissey.

  6. Karlsson is the best defenceman in the league, not sure what league you watched last season.

  7. all i have to say is imagine if kane returns to the hawks to play with bedard and their first line is hall bedard kane which tbh i could potentially see happening 🤯

  8. I was lucky enough to see the Stanley Cup at a hotel in L.A. back in "93" when it was put on display during the finals between Kings vs Canadians. It was roped, so you couldn't actually touch it, but you could get close enough to read the names.

  9. Welcome back THG, the videos you queued up while you were gone were fantastic and i can't wait for the season previews!

  10. I was lucky enough to see Cup in person in 1994. All star game at MSG and Grand Central Station had an NHL all star display and cup was there

  11. Been seriously wanting a Red Wing as the EA NHL cover guy for years and voted heavily for Datsyuk for 14 back in the day, but I’m to the point of it not even mattering anymore. I just want them to make a fun and enjoyable hockey game again.

  12. Makar is a good pick for the cover, though i think it might have been nice to give it to bergy to honor his career

  13. Even as a leafs fan, RJ's passing hurts, it's a damn shame he never got to make a stanley cup winning call, nobody deserved to more. If the sabres win a cup, it'll be in his honor

  14. I’m 36 and have been a diehard Sabres fan since I started playing hockey and watching the Sabres around 5-6 years old. RJ captivated me at that age and made me fall in love with playing hockey and watching the Sabres. Even his regular play by play calling on boring nights were still entertaining. His passing definitely hit us hard in Buffalo

  15. Hi The Hockey Guy I have a question for you. I was watching a video earlier of own goals, where the team scores on themselves which are always fun, but the first one was of a team that scored on themselves on a faceoff in their zone. I have no idea what the reason for the faceoff was and I know in a situation like that it's the last player on the offensive team that touched the puck that gets credited for the goal, but what if the last player on that team to touch the puck is sitting in the box or maybe even ejected does he still get credited for the goal? I've been watching hockey since the mid 70's (mostly Leafs and Team Canada games) and I don't remember it ever happening, but it would be kind of cool to get a goal while in the box.

  16. Appreciate the nod to RJ to start the video. No one meant more to the Sabres community than him. Thank you

  17. Zegras training with Chris Krieder in NY says he will not return to CA without contract, Yikes…

  18. March 27, 1995 fight between Rob Ray and Blues Tony Twist….the call was more exciting than the one-sided fight, "they yap and they yap and they yap….and there they go!". Jeanerette was maybe the best announcer in the league.

  19. Thank you Shannon, for the mention of the passing of the greatest play by play man in hockey history or any other sport. RJ will be missed not only by Sabre fans but the entire hockey world. I had the honor of meeting RJ in 1996, have a picture & autograph of a greatly loved man. He has gone up to the heavens. Top Shelf Where Mama Hides the Cookies.

  20. RIP RJ. Probably the most memorable non-player in the Sabres organization history. SO many amazing calls in his career. We lost a true legend.

  21. Stanley cup is going to be in aldergrove, even closer! Hope you make the trip, it can be a video

  22. Thanks for leading off with RJ. A true legend who will be sorely missed. We are heartbroken here in Buffalo

  23. Anaheim Ducks celebrate Pride Night on January 5th. I wonder if he'll opt out of playing that night since the league doesn't do warm-up jerseys anymore.
