Berube on Binnington’s actions that led to match penalty in loss to Wild
Craig Berube shares his thoughts on Jordan Binnington’s reaction that led to a match penalty and his exit in the second period of the Blues’ 8-5 loss to the Wild.
I totally agree w the hit Binner did on Hartman. Kadri crashed the net last year and it cost the Blues their playoffs as Binner was dialed in. But what I DO NOT AGREE with is his antics afterwards. Do the scrum, make ur stand, and that's all that needs to happen. I do blame the Blues players leaving Binner high-n-dry like they do every single game.
Nah Berube's just flat out wrong. Binnington was in no way justified in that reaction. Hartman didn't do anything worth reacting to. We all know Binnington is a massive pussy though, and Berube's just playing partisan because he's coach.
Binnington absolutely justified rest of team needs binningtons heart. Berube spot on berube must be ready to kick someone's ass the way these blues play. Armstrong overpayed kyroe and especially Thomas now stuck with long contracts.
Berube doing his job defending his player, but Binnington slid himself 3 feet out of the crease to bump Hartman. Then uses it as an excuse to be the complete douche nozzle he's been this year.
Binnington is a detriment to the Blues. He was out of the crease and when Hartman clipped him, it obviously wasn't intentional. Berube is just plain wrong on this one.
So you don't have a problem with your terrible goalie letting in 5 goals leaving the crease to go punch the player that scored on him made himself look like a complete jackass and not only that he got ejected with a 2 game suspension what a 🤡
Binnington spun out as Hartman went to celebrate it was incidental contact and Binnington was just pissed because they just scored on him now he has to sit

Bennington is a hot head who will be traded because he does a lot of stupid stuff that hurts the team. The chief isn't doing a good enough job controlling him. He might be looking for job after the season.
Go Bennington! I love this kind of emotion. He’s the first to bring the cup St. Louis. This tells me his has heart and this is the kind of player we need. We have a lot of players that give people love taps rather hitting them. This is the nhl not not figure skating.
It's crazy that Berube didn't even watch the tape before commenting. C'mon, Hartman wasn't in the crease when he ran into the goalie. I'm not a fan of either team, no horse in this race, but Binner has always been a poser. He's the ultimate "hold me back" guy, the dude who throws a water bottle at Kardi and runs down the hallway later saying "I wanted him to know it was me and it had real life implications". Gimme a break.

After seeing the Wild and Capitals game and the negative reactions to both this incident and the Dumba hit on Kuznetsov, I think the League is trying to paint the Wild as a cheap shot team. Seeing Hartman skip over Bennington's pad as Bennington tried to kick him as he passes by, then acts like he was kicked. That's how Ive seen the slow mo. And it didnt even happen inside the crease. Maybe Bennington should concentrate on stopping pucks and stop wandering out to taunt the other teams bench.

Yeah, don't hold players accountable for their actions when they are detrimental to the team… thats great coaching!
