  1. I think Nashville could surprise people. We have seen in the past that Nashville is at it's best as a underdog.

  2. They won’t win the division and not likely to make a deep playoff run, but this team should be competitive and be in the mix for a playoff spot all season long. I can easily see them overtaking the Jets, but whether that’s enough to make the playoffs 50/50 IMO.

  3. Thumbnail looked like Matt Gryz for a sec and I got excited the Bs finally dumped him

  4. If nothing else, the Preds will be better because they fired John Hynes. Saros is the only reason they weren’t much, much worse under his tenure.

  5. I feel like Nashville has the potential to surprise people and could maybe make a case to be third in the division if Minnesota has troubles. And I also really feel we might see both wildcard spots going to teams in the Pacific.

  6. I like Brunette coaching the young forwards. However, I think they get carried by Saros almost to a playoff spot. 4th in the Central with 86-91 points.

  7. Preds have a chance to do something this year. Don’t discount the impact of a hot goaltender when it comes to playoff time. Saros can be that guy.

  8. Can the gm coach during practices? For some reason I picture Trotz to be very hands on.

  9. Nashville is a strong bubble playoff team that have a ton of cap space to work with, great goaltending, and a solid defence corps. I think that they'll finish 4th spot in the division, especially if things do not go well in Winnipeg.

  10. I’m excited for this year! I feel with the buyout of Duchene and trading Johannsen Trotz
Is looking to make a statement and culture change that Nashville is no longer a place to coast but to win! GO PREDS!

  11. I don't think losing Duchene and Johansen will affect them that much. I think Novak and the other young guys on the team will step up. Plus Saros is Saros so he will just keep stealing games like usual.

  12. Duchene really hasn't half fucked his career so far, I don't even hate him, at this point I pity him, left the Avs cause we were so damn terrible, then got to see us win the cup in 22 meanwhile has he even left round 1 yet???

  13. Tommy Novak is hella underrated, could be a 50-60 point producer while playing a solid 2 way game

  14. I think it’s worth noting the absolute haul the preds got for selling at the deadline. They have a large prospect pool and the draft capital to make moves or play the long game. With our large cap space and the fact that it’s set to increase a large amount next year, I’d watch the trade deadline and players who need extensions on cap strapped teams like Toronto

  15. Something not mentioned enough as far as context for last season was all of the injuries. If Forsberg or Josi played the whole season, maybe they get the 3 extra points. But the injuries really are a big "if", especially for Forsberg — he hasn't played a full 82-game season, *or even played more than 70*, since 2016-2017.

I think it wouldn't take much for this team to start trending in either direction… But the central is fairly open. We'll see what Trotz is cookin'.

  16. The Predators might not look great on paper, but anything can happen when you get a new coach. I think this team will be a little better than last season
