  1. God, this hits home. Torts is such a stoic person, but his humanity is so strong. Forgetting the hockey aspect, a young man lost his life in a tragic way and that will forever stay with folks. Rest In Peace Kivi.

  2. Exactly the emotional reaction I expect from a rough, tough, ballsy, man's man like John Tortorella. Men like him wear their emotions on their sleeve, usually in a fiery kind of way but they also have very powerful, sensitive feelings at the other end of the spectrum. This tragedy is certainly one that stirred those emotions.

  3. One hell of a coach.

Most players who share opinions of Torts seemingly do so favorably and I assume this is the primary reason why.

  4. I love Torts. Not because of this video, but it doesn`t make me like him any less. Every single game he is invested and every single press conference is fun to watch.

  5. RIP u gave Sioux City hockey fans great season the Anderson cup. The sports world will miss u your number here is now retired

  6. Soo sad. I like Torts new image. Hes not just a taskmaster that sent Gaborik packing to LA….and iced out and exiled Sean Avery. He does have some compassion…at least here. NYR fan.

  7. RIP #80 I can tell you this as a diehard Devils fan 1. If we lost to Elvis in net this year, I have NO problem with it and if we fire Ruff I WANT TORTS AS COACH

  8. That’s the heart of a truly exceptional and emotional man who would’ve traded his life for that young man.
