  1. I love that jersey.

I also wish the Oilers would bring back the roughneck guy pulling the stick/lever.

  2. Scoreboard. As a wings fan there were many games we could have won if our powerplay was better. McDavid and Draisaitl are the #1 and #2 players/ centers in the NHL no question.

  3. As an Oiler fan who watches Draisaitl live often, he indeed is an elite center men and winger and a top 2 or 3 best offensive forward in the league..he’s a beast

  4. If you are asking about Leon, you just had to watch him closely last playoffs. That man played possessed, like a True Champion, that wanted it BAD. That's the guy I want.

  5. Kind of bizarre that this conversation is even happening. He's throwing down elite offensive numbers, but also has a faceoff rate comparable to Selke winners (tied with Barkov, within 1% of O'Reilly and Kopitar) and better than Danault and Crosby. Obviously there's more to playing Center than winning faceoffs, but he has really strong numbers across the board even if you're looking for proof that he's not as good as it seems.

  6. Hischier and Hughes are both MUCH better at even strength. Wouldn’t trade either of them for Leon. They can play in the weak West, rack up PP points but we all know they won’t win shit. Go Devils.

  7. That’s a really sharp looking hat. You always wear cool hats. Have you ever done a hat collection video?

  8. I mean it's kind of simple when you put this into perspective. Leon would probably still get 100 a season without Connor, and Connor would probably still get 120 a season without Leon. But when you have two players like that playing on the same team, they will inflate each other's statistics. People also fail to realize they just set the record for the best single season power of all-time. And, with3.96 goals per game this season, the Oilers just scored the 2nd most goals in a single season in the past century. They fill the net.

  9. Is it me or on the still shot for this video look like Dri is putting his head back on

  10. How is this even a debate? Of course he's Elite!

If people are saying he's just a PowerPlay specialist………then he's an ELITE PowerPlay specialist. Didn't realize being good on the PowerPlay is a bad thing haha! People look for the stupidest reasons too not give someone credit.

  11. in my opinion, these comments stems from toxic Canadian extremist fanbase and media. It's the exact reason why star players will not want to play in Canada. It's almost as we are incapable of appreciating their talent.

  12. No mention on how much he dives. I don’t think there’s ever been such a high elite level player who dives so much.

  13. What really ticks me off is people thinking McDavid somehow “turns Leon elite” because of how good McDavid is, when in reality, it’s often the case that Draisaitl on account of being so good elevates McDavid’s game.

  14. I'm a Calgary fan. Draisaitl is more than capable 5 on 5. I am bit dumbfounded by the idea that PP points arent a good indicator of a player's overall skill. There a alot of factors, sure, but most teams don't run their powerplays with guys who can't finish. And at the end of the day, points are points. Anybody who thinks Draisaitl is "only" a PP specialist would probably want him on their team regardless

  15. – elite passer
    – has an elite one-timer
    – elite wristshot
    – >50% on the faceoff
    – good zone entries and protects the puck well despite not being a speed freak who can regularly deke out 3 guys like McDavid (not that he can't deke guys out sometimes, but also often uses his body to protect the puck while just muscling his way in)
    – 3-time 50 goal scorer
    – 4-time 100 pt scorer
    – 18.1 career shot %
    – 10 short-handed goals
    – off the powerplay he has 181 regular season goals and 306 assists (and those points alone would put him in the top 250 forwards all-time in points-per-game)
    – he elevates in the playoffs

I'd say he's an elite center.

  16. The oilers defensive system was very strange in the playoffs.
Man-on-man did not work at all with the VGK playing a zone defence.
That is on Woodcroft and Manson and makes players like Draisaitl and NUrse look especially bad at 5 on 5.
Drai is an absolute stud in stealing pucks back after a give-away and he CAN be an absolute stud at back-checking.
