Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with an update on the rumour that Grant started last week about Phil Kessel coming to Edmonton after a Cruz listener claims he saw someone that looked just like the three-time champ at one of our local establishments. Lest anyone actually believe that Phil Kessel is in town, he is not. Sticking with silly season, we looked at a few of the names that have been tied to the Oilers so far and whether or not I think that Travis Konecny or Brett Pesce will actually be coming to Edmonton. As much as I’d love to see either guy rocking the blue and orange, the Oilers’ cap limitations have me seriously doubting whether we’ll be able to get much done in terms of making big swings. From there, for some reason, we spent the next couple of minutes talking about where Milan Lucic may end up after the Flames granted his agent permission to go out and find him a new home. My guess is Toronto, mostly for the lols. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the TSN 1260 situation and how it was a huge loss for the city and its sports fans. Not only was a very cool station shut down, but the way Bell Media did it has certainly left a sour taste in some people’s mouths.
