  1. Watching these reactions makes me remember why I loved hockey so much. I used to watch LFR when I was in high school (for posterity, I was class of 09) because I always wanted to hear Steve get tilted about matches between the Leafs and Sabres(and then just in general). I've moved from WNY and had some things that kept me from enjoying hockey but I've checked in periodically over the years and am glad that there's still LFRs coming out.

PS: I also legit cheered when I saw Steve on Sportsnet a while back while out at a bar (to the absolute confusion of my husband who has no interest whatsoever in sports). So if you see this Steve, I'm super happy for you and wish you the best. Keep on being awesome and (i can't believe I'm saying this, tell no one or my fellow Buffalonians will come for me) Go Leafs go!

  2. God i can't wait til your soul is crushed in the playoffs, you have the shortest memory in the world. Last week you were ready to pack the season in, 3 wins later you're celebrating like your team won a playoff round which you almost can't remember you were like 15 and not fat last time it happend

  3. As a flyers fan I can honestly say we’re in for a long rebuild. Front office can BS us all they want with “retooling” we are eons behind the rest of our division.

  4. I'm not sure if it was Hayes but if you run that replay of the Matthews goal slowly as Marner is circling the net Bunting kinda spears the hand of the Flyer who was shadowing him as he skates to the front of the net.

  5. I was disgusted by the broadcast and had to turn it off, the commentators have the worst case of ADHD I've ever seen and would rather read their stat cards than watch the game "yak yak yak yak scores…oh oops yak yak yak" then the panel in the first period discussing sucker punches was horrendous and everybody ganged up on Jen who was only trying to hold the league accountable…can't have that!

  6. So why pull Yandle? Evaluate the rookie yes, I get that, but why not pull some other guy? And if I'm the other guy I'm like "coach leave Yands in I'll take a seat tonight." To me that was a dick move.

  7. Jack looked good tonight.
However, the Leafs cannot win a round with this goalie tandem….look at the goalie stats in Money Puck if you need a dose of reality.
Let's hope for their mental well being it's not Boston that spank them once again.

  8. As a leaf fan and in fairness to Keith Yandle, and I don't think enough people are making a stink about how this went down. His streak ends at 989 games, 11 games from 1000, while the flyers have 14 games remaining this season. FOURTEEN. Yandle is a UFA next year and might not get a solid look for play or a contract. The right thing to do here was to at least allow him to hit 1000 games. They didn't even have to be heavily using him, 7th D or move him to 4th line wing if you really had to. Between FWD and DEF, there was definitely at least 1 person who could rotate sitting over 11 games to allow Yandle to play out to 1000 and end a career on a note that doesn't sting. Hell had they asked the team, I'm sure someone would have volunteered every game. This BS excuse of "oh we want to see what we have for next year" is just that, BS. Really? You've been out of the playoff race for a while, if that was the case you would have had other talent in to try with the team for a couple weeks now and Yandle's streak would have ended back at like 950 or so.

This is the equivalent of the Babcock / Modano situation. It's just a shitty thing to do for a meaningless game to everyone else in the moment, but a lifetime accomplishment to the individual ruined. IF I was a flyers fan, I'd be disgraced of this team's management for more than just the on-ice product. Flyers brand is supposed to be treating the other team like trash and making people regret coming in to play them. They aren't supposed to be treating their own players like trash.

  9. Simmons goal looked as if he lost control of the puck? Counts as a goal.
Starting the young College Grad wasn't that impressive . Sorry but nothing that stood out.
    Engvall Milkeyeve Lilijgren contributing nicely!!

  10. Pretty sure liljegren was ranked top 10 in his draft year at the beginning but then got hurt or had mono or something like that so he fell big time.

  11. Glad to see adds on your videos. You've entertained us without fail for over a decade, and you deserve to be rewarded for it.

  12. This team has all the pieces in place to win a cup. At this point its just about peaking at the right time, and execution. They can't perform at their worst when it counts the most like last year. If Muzzin can return to form for the playoffs, this team has a very good chance of at least going deep. I can't see this team having a round like last year…. save for another freak injury.

  13. It's not the rookie who will be getting hatred and heat for ending Yandel's streak just 11 games before he played in his 1000th. It's the Flyers organization. Who in their right mind would want to go play for an organization that treated a veteran like Yandle with such disrespect?

  14. Morgan Reilly.

    68 games
    9 goals.
    49 assists
    59 pts.

Not to shabby for someone haters said Peafs over paid him. He’s still doing what he’s supposed to be doing. And he’s quiet about it.

  15. Did no one see bunting pull out his mouth guard and presumably start chirping off to the flyers. Ref probably heard that too. All is fair in love and war! Big leafs fan here, no call warranted, good on Holl for giving one back

  16. Last night is proof positive that if we get Boston in the first round, Wayne Simmonds and Kyle Clifford get dressed for every single game. In fact, the fourth line: Clifford, Spezza and Simmonds. Let the Bruins worry about it every freaking night.

  17. Logan Stanley wouldn't even step up to Simmonds. When Clifford was working on Dillon's face, Stanley was like, "nah bro, I'm good" to Wayne.

  18. That was the most confusing way to say JT had a 2 goal game recently lmao. I had to watch it twice.

  19. Mitch Marner made me eat every one of my words talking crap about him and I couldn’t be happier to be proven wrong.

  20. cross checking needs to be called. the whole carreer of chara is cross checking. it is the worse part of hockey infractions. great show Steve . thanks

  21. Good to see you happy Steve you have suffered so long. I hope they don't break your heart again this year.

  22. The incompetence of the NHL referees continues to mystify: Cross-checking, at the very least is unsportsmanlike conduct especially multiple times after a whistle or during a goal celebration, glove-on punches are roughing/unsportsmanlike, whatever you want to call it…If they called the rule-book, fewer players would be injured, playoff hockey would be about INTENSITY NOT CHEATING OR GOONERY… any injured players should be able to sue the referee association due to their incompetence.

  23. LFR actually begins at 1:02 (sponsored LFR's are back? Well this channel has gone downhill.)

  24. cross-checking during a goal celebration… it has NEVER been called, I can remember as far back as Gary Suter cross-checking Paul Kariya after a goal and gave Kariya a concussion. WTF?? Should have been a match penalty and a suspension.
