Dubas and Shanahan, so much of the fanbase and media have argued for years about how you can't trade Marner or even think about trading Matthews. Well now it is ride or die with fools gold.
Nylander and ??? is traded to Calgary for Hanifin and Lindholm. They trade Brodie.
Projected line up:
1st line: Bertuzzi, Matthews, Marner.
2nd line: Domi, JT, Lindholm
3rd line. Knies, Kampf, Jarnkrok
4th line: Robertson, Holmberg, Lafferty (Reaves)

I give Brad Treliving credit he did some pretty good work for getting thrusted in their last minute. I don’t think it’s impossible they sign Nylander all negotiations start or low and high from each respected side than met in the middle.

To save a couple million against the cap what about trading jarnkrok for a mid to late round pick? I don't feel he adds anything to the team and was pretty much non-existent in the playoffs. Might open up some room to get some defensive depth which seems severely lacking. Any thoughts?

I give them an EH-. It would've been easy to run and tuck tail after that first day mass exodus. If the Leafs are willing to pay Reaves so much money and term, I guess what it says is that the dressing room or team really needs to change its personality.

I think Leafs’ fans are too emotionally invested to realize that the Leafs still lack the depth, great defence and solid goaltending, necessary to beat a Vegas type team in the finals. That’s just the reality.
As it stands, Vegas would destroy the Leafs. No depth, average defence and average goaltending isn’t conducive with beating a team like the Golden Knights.
Dubas’ moves are soo sus now that he’s gone. Murray is a handcuff. LW was always weak until now. Kind of weird AM contract was so easily done at $11.5M but now see the conflict of interest as Dubas and Matthews represented by same agency. These NMC contracts for the core RFA is a handcuff too. Marner & Matthews were paid too much in hindsight.
