At this point, it's either Detroit or Buffalo. Both of them can give him fair money for a short term deal, and both are on the playoff bubble. He'd have to help the team actually make the playoffs, but he'd get money and still have a chance.
It depends on whether he wants to go home or play with Cat. That RW spot in Detroit is open to him though and he could be a top line player with Cat, while in Buffalo he's probably on the second line behind Tuch. Sounds crazy maybe, but I think it depends on weighing the factors between the two. Also noteworthy he went to high school in Detroit and spent a few years there, and geographically it's in between Buffalo and Chicago so I wouldn't rule it out.
I trust Dietz as he was the one to break that Rocky Wirtz died, and he broke that Toews was working his way back to the ice to try to final games of the regular season.
