OK, Golden Showers won the Cup, congratulations 🎊, now GO AWAY! Kraken are winning it next few years. Much easier to win a Cup, when you have a roster of NHL players. Not like other expansion teams (who were given GARBAGE) and struggled mightily.
I've looked back at older vids before I knew he even existed and he's always the goalie getting lit up lol. He was quite the journeyman before literally hitting the jackpot in Vegas of course. I hate to say it but there are tons of NHL backups or even underpaid starters saying I could of been their goalie in that run and while I agree to an extent just like I believe Darcy Kemper just happened to be the guy in the net behind a behemoth avalanche team that no team could stop. So while both those goalies especially Aidan Hill benefitted huge because not only does he win a cup but two goalies had to get hurt before his turn even came up and I bet vegas' coach was like i have a cup champ on the bench with the days of his career as a starter in Quick all but over or I can put in Aidan Hill who is a very much unproven journeyman but maybe just hadn't been given the keys to the cage and I bet anything his leash was so short he choked just walking. Who knows if he has the skills and way more important the ability to take it in and enjoy it but don't let it overwhelm you and even more then Kemper I feel Aidan was leaned upon more then a handful of times to come up with the huge save and just keep his team with a chance to win the game night after night. And there was only one overtime goal against I think either Edmonton or Dallas that was soft. And Draisaitl did make him look out of his league a few times as did Mcdavid but they could do that to the best of them. Now do I think he deserved to get a two year over 4 million a year contract hell no lol he didn't even play as whole season. That's where professional sports is half luck half sometimes. There's goalies like samsonov in Toronto who put in greater top 5 in some categories with a very respectable save % and he's one goalie that I know could have done what hill did anyday yet he took his team out of the first round in 19 years and let's be real Vegas didn't get the same panthers teams the Bruins, Leafs, and Carolina saw. They were completely out of gas all Vegas has to do was show up and half try and the cup was theirs and people are going to say wait wait wait teams are always beat up rhe teams that push through win. And yes Vegas had a tough road but let's look at the differences . The Jets just underperformed and hellebyuk sucked and the same thing happened with Edmonton who beat themselves and that's why Connor was beyond upset this time because even Vegas admits Edmonton was the toughest by far and if players like Nugent Hopkins didn't turn into a ghost, Evander Kane was invisible as well, Draisaitl was insane for the first 3 games but couldn't produce after that, Hyman was average but McDavid was beast mode the whole time and I actually take back what i said about Draisaitl, he was also completely dominant but the two people you would t of thought would blow the series was Skinner who was absolutely awful, a complete shell of himself from the regular season . Between LA kings and Vegas he was pulled 3 times and each time Campbell came in and played magnificent he held a 9.55 sv% through was amounted to 2 and a half games and the crazy thing is Campbell actually saved the season for them from going out in the first round game 6 down 3-0 after one . Campbell stood on his head allowed Edmonton to get back in the game only allowing one goal getting peppered with shots and the oilers won 5-4. They went back to skinner he almost screwed them for game 7. But against Vegas Skinner was even worse and again after pulling him and allowing Campbell to come in he allowed them again to win that elimination game. But coach went back to skinner and Vegas ate em up in game 6 in what was a very winnable series for edmonton . Anyways congrats Aidan Hill that's the most money ive seen a goalie make for a playoff run without the regular season lol. And what about Robyn Lehner isn't he supposed to be back?
This save? He was actually way out of position, he committed to the player on the wing way too early. He just let in a softie before that. Lucky he saved this one. Otherwise this could have been the series swinger.
