I thought the Tampa game wasn’t that bad but ELA is right, fatigue may have been a factor in the Kraken’s inability to break through Tampa’s defensive shell.
Some thoughts on Chris Dreidger though – what a ride this guy has been on. First the Kraken sign him and it looks like he’s going to be The Guy. He’s the belle of the ball at the expansion draft and everything’s coming’ up Dreidger. Then Seattle manages to scoop Philip Grubauer out from under Colorado in a somewhat unexpected UFA opportunity. Dreidger gets to watch the organization promote Grubi as THE GOALIE, see his jersey sales skyrocket, get his own chant to be serenaded by at home games, with Dreidger struggling all the while in pre-season, regular season, hitting injury, watching Joey Daccord create a bit of a backup goalie controversy. All. Of. That.
I’m so happy that Dreidger got that win in Florida. He REALLY needed it for his confidence and I hope he continues his strong play against Buffalo. The guy is super likable and has had a roller coaster career on top of this roller coaster season.
