  1. While I agree the commentary needed an update, it should have been James that got replaced. Ray is awesome and my favorite colour commentator in the NHL. I'd have liked to see Gord Miller come in from the Sens broadcast or something. Carla also needs to be more prominent in her role in the game.

  2. I'd say most likely for Kane is
    1 Sabers
    2 Red Wings
    3 Blue Jackets/Predators

As far as the game, I really can't stand woman commentators. I watch a different broadcast on TV and I'll probably turn her off if there's no other option

  3. It is really cold?? Boy I guess you’re not in Ottawa!!
Also, if you play offline that just means you suck online

  4. In regards to EA NHL… I never understood why they couldn’t just keep all the colour commentary people they added through the years and allowed users to choose who they wanted to hear.

  5. With u on the ea game! Doubt I’ll buy it this year either cause I haven’t heard anything bout franchise mode being updated

  6. The Hockey Guy is gunning HARD for one of the greatest stories in hockey to come true… the greatest American born NHL’er of all time coming back to play in his hometown of Buffalo. People have been wanting this for nearly two decades… this is the LAST chance for it to happen. My god I hope he does.

  7. LOL, it's 34c here near Montreal, 43c with humidity. I'm glad the west coast is cooling off after those crazy fires tho. It's been like this since a while in ON/QC, summer extends into mid-October easily and spring is real cold and only by the end of May temperatures are where they should be. Went to my nephew's practice at his Bantam training camp last Saturday and the ice at that particular arena is known to get liquidish in training camps before actual teams are formed, so that session of camp was cancelled and move to another arena the next day.

  8. Habs have a lot of cap space if they pull a move by classifying Price as healthy for game 1 then sticking him back on the LTIR, I see Hughes possibly doing that.

As for NHL '24, it's back on PC! The last great one was NHL '07 with the realistic play patches made by the community, not just lineup upgrades, they would move those sliders that, well, most of them would have us scratching our heads, not knowing what they meant/did, those guys at a certain website was making patches for '07 since it was the best NHL and on PC, but '08 was a copypaste job and '09 too, when '09, the last PC release, was what killed it, the game got a complete revamp on the newer consoles (ps3, xbox 360).

I love multiplayer NHL, but at my or someone's house, not with people I don't know online. NHL '06 on Gamecube with 4 gamepads (funnily enough, the closest to the PC version in AI intelligence and gameplay, PS2 was rather meh, especially when playing against the PC even on Advanced mode) made up a lot of our evenings at my friend's house during college. The PC nay-sayers don't know much about what they're talking about, I remember having 4 ps2 wireless gamepads in my livingroom, NHL '05 on a PC plugged to my tv and stereo that was kind of hidden behind the side of a couch and other electronics and they didn't say a word, they were enjoying it pretty much (a fan patch for those sliders had been applied there too) and when I told them, we're not playing ps2 and showed them the PC, that shut them up quick lol. They don't seem to get the game back then until '07 anyways, was made for PC first then versions for all 3 consoles were made from it back then.

I remember how crazy superior NHL '95 on PC was compared to any console, especially the SNES version where I'd win 21-1 with 5 minute periods. Genesis and Sega CD was closer in difficulty to PC, but from then to about 10-12 years after, the video cards on PC's were always easily stronger than anything in those 3 consoles or so it would appear on. I play since NHLPA '92 on Sega Genesis, before the NHL allowed their license for the game and I'll say, I haven't played since around 2009, after several seasons on that patched '07 for PC and I'm gonna be getting '24 for PC, they finally listened, it's almost unbelievable.

  9. Z is going to have a clause in his contract that says PV needs to sign Kane.

  10. I don't think the wings need Kane . A quick analysis of their scoring and factoring in the new players (conservative estimates) the wings can go from 230 goals to anywhere from 279 to 290 goals. That puts them up there with Tampa, Florida, Buffalo, and Ottawa may struggle to get there if tarasenko doesn't perform. Unless I am missing something in the math (?) Kane doesn't bring a significant advantage to spend the money. Just sayin'

  11. I dont think Kane will be a third line guy on whatever team he goes to. He just put up 92 points two seasons ago. If the hip is feeling better i think he can easily put out80-90 pt range.

  12. NHL 2002 had the best commentary. "Ow, I spilled hot coffee on my legs!" "Those are my legs!!" Classic.
