Yzerman Provides Edvinsson Update | Does Sanderson Extension Impact Seider and Raymond?



Steve Yzerman spoke to the media in Grand Rapids earlier this week, in which he spoke about the teams offseason moves and any urgency the team has to make the playoffs. He also provided an update on top prospect Simon Edvinsson. Jake Sanderson signed an 8×8 extension with the Ottawa Senators, will that deal impact future contracts for Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond. #lgrw

    I saw the Yzerman presser and I'd say a Kane deal is very much on the table. Steve was absolutely holding a door open.

    Super interesting offseason episode.
    Seider gave an interview in Germany where he talks about his future in Detroit. He would like to finish his career as a RedWing.
    I am sure Seider and Yzerman have already finalized his contract because Seider talked about 8 years. I think Seider gets 8×8.53 and Raymond depending on how his season goes for 4/6×5/6.
    I would love to see both of them in red and white forever ❤️

    Thought Wings could improve 10 pts last year, they did 8. Think they can do 20 pts better this year with additions, not so much winning, but not losing. A little more offense and a lot better defense.

    Raymond will be better on 2nd line. Will have more space to do what he does, 'til he learns how to handle himself. With Ras on other wing Raymond and either which center, Copp or Comphor, will make a better 2nd line, with goals.

    That said, I agree about the Seider and Raymond talk. I'd have no problem giving Seider a max term deal. Raymond, I think he's great, but I also feel like he needs to turn the corner a bit. He's good, for sure, but he's gotta show us more before I'd be all in on a big contract for him just yet.

    My hope is Seider sign at just under larkins deal at 8 x 8.6m and Raymond for "cheap" at 8 x 5.7m. It would be disappointing to bridge Seider though.
