They were both going at each other before the cross-check to the chin happened. This is just a part of hockey. You can argue for a 2 min call purely because of where the cross-check landed, but it otherwise would've been fine.
What is see is first contact on high-chest area and then stick rises during contact to the chin. Nothing super brutal straight to the face crosschecking. I wouldn't be mad if they call a penalty from that, but i wouldn't be mad about not calling a penalty.
