  1. For me it's absolutely 3rd pairing defense as assuming one is Clarke you are going to need to pair him with a Gudas type to protect him as in his very brief stint in LA I noticed he got hit quite a bit.

  2. Concerns for me I would say would be Goaltending, Pk, and the production from Kayliev and Byfield.

  3. Byfield is the least of my concerns. Do the Kings need him to step up this season? Yes, of course. But if he doesn't then I'm guessing someone else will. The main reason I rag on Byfield is that I have always been a Stutzle guy but for anyone to already call him a bust would be absurd. Kempe and Tage are perfect examples. My #1 concern and I have said it many times is the team toughness and leadership. Look at the lineup of the 2012 – 2014 Kings and tell me that that was not a tough lineup to compete against and to top that, the characters they had on that team: Matt Greene, Mike Richards, Dustin Brown, Willie Mitchell, Quick, Stoll Scuderi, the list goes on. Dwight King and Jordan Nolan would pummel you in the corners and the front of the net while Jeff Carter would snipe one by you as they did. This team is softer than melted butter. Okay, PLD gonna come in an bust heads. Yeah, right. The Kings need characters and good old fashioned knuckles if they will win. Pretty boy Dave and Drysaddle need to be afraid, very afraid when the Kings come to town. Fiala, Moore, and Arvy are nice players but they are just cute. No more cute!

  4. For kings not to have come up with a goalie to replace, Quick deserves some criticism. There are teams that not only have two quality goalies but some have three. Through development or trade, the management should have done much better. The last time I checked, the team without a quality goalie doesn't go very far in the playoffs. Having a question mark on goal to start a season is a bit concerning. Let's see what develops.

This kind of brings on my own concern, if the Kings do go the route of the Golden Knights, will that mean live game watching is limited to residents of SoCal (or even specifically those of Los Angeles), because if so, i and all other out of area fans (me being in Salem OR) will have no way to watch games that aren't nationally televised, and if that's the case i would certainly rather they do something like they previously had with Bally (where you pay some kind of subscription to watch games), as it's a lot more fair to expect local fans to pay extra while allowing out of area fans a way to watch games in general without traveling, rather than limiting viewership to residents of SoCal for the sake of not charging them as much. I have a right to watch games, even if it costs local fans more money.
