That's not a perfect pass. There are 4 solid reasons this did not happen , and none are bad luck. Firstly, and the easiest, he's sliding forward and the angle changes. He'd have to stopped completely to catch the pass at the right spot on his stick. Second, vision and reaction time which are things different players have different levels off under pressure.

This was a play they have been practicing and there is no excuse , no reason and no way another player would have missed that opportunity and if you watch another game in which Strome had that same opportunity and could not handle it . My comment to this is if you are hurt and cannot play no matter what the coach says think of your teammates and just don't play. Game 5 Strome was unable to stop a breakaway what does that tell you. I'm sorry but i would not keep him.

This rangers team had just as much firepower as the Avs, just couldn’t finish at times. Not because Tampa is so good defensively, just couldn’t execute at the moment. The rangers had 2 or 3 chances to close out that game in the last 5 minutes then lost in OT.
