[Stein] The team decided that Luke Hughes will not attend the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, allowing him to focus on getting ready in NJ for main camp. It makes sense, with two early games and a tight schedule that would limit the actual amount of playing time.

Not surprised. I was kinda questioning it when I saw him on the roster for it to begin with.

  2. Good. This will let them get a better look at Nemec.

Makes sense, he is already a lock for the team anyway

Makes sense, I didn’t see a world where Luke wasn’t in newark this season. Why waste ice time on this challenge and block someone who needs a real look from getting it

Good move to prevent any unnecessary injuries as well. He would have a target on his head for opposing prospects looking to make their mark.

Seriously!? Of course he should be focused on Devils training camp. This is a no brainer. Team chemistry & conditioning is infinitely more important.

When I saw him on the roster I was almost thinking they only did it for the fans to have a carrot on a stick and get more people to the website tomorrow.

Refreshing to see rationality win out over marketing for once. Probably less likely to dominate opponents, but given what it is–who cares?
